Was out for a ride tonight and lost all ignition. Cruising at 3600rpms with the 454/330hp carb motor. Have gas and no spark. Noticed I have no tach, temp or oil pressure gauges when cranking the engine over. Still have power trim and lighting but no spark. I did not take apart the multipin connector yet. Acted like someone just shut off the key at cruise speed. I have no kill switch and all circuit breakers in the ER are fine. Engine cranks fine.....glad I did not ingest water when it fell off plane. 270 Sundancer......this has been a long summer of failures. Need to go over leads with a 12V test light/voltage meter and check the coil, etc, Mike.

If it is the multi-pin connector, you can take the same step that a fellow dock mate did last summer. He had a few corroded connections within the connector and the marina's estimate to replace the cables was through the roof. The most cost efective way to solve his problem was to cut off both ends, butt splice all of the wires color by color and heat shrink the whole job. He has not had any problems since. If you ever had to swap out that engine, you would simply repeat the same process.

Check for 12v at the alt output lug and at both sides of the 50A circuit breaker

Will do! What about the Low Oil Pressure cutoff switch. Had to replace my pressure sensor this season. I do have water temp and voltage readings at the dash but no tach or oil pressure moving during cranking.....It just dead cut off engine like a light switch.....Thanks, Mike.

Two parts to check....Ignition sensor? Ignition Amplifier?
