We took delivery a week ago and the installation of a memory foam topper on the v berth became a must, here is what I did.
Boat...2001 310 Sundancer
Topper...King 76/80...2.5 thick memory foam, on sale at Sam's $126.00
Tools....Elactric knife, sharpie.
Laid both pieces of v berth over the topper the best I could and traced to make 1 piece. Cut with knife and took to the boat. Did some more trimming and tucked about 2 inches into the round headboard. Make sure your leading edge that you see is the best cut. put a king tapered sheet on...Done.
Total time was about an hour, had to open topper and lay flat for 24 hours prior to install.
We have been believers in memory foam for 10 years now, I highly recommend it.

Very nice! I've been using "egg crate" foam for years, but have never really been too happy. It's better than just the regular cushion, but it still needs more. Maybe I'll give the memory foam a try - or just replace the current cushions with something better. Then I won't have to use the topper.

I've got two king-size sheets on my workbench, still in the packaging. I'm planning on sewing a custom sheet set. Been "planning" on it for 7 m:smt101onths...

Nice looking install!

Very nice.
Costco has some of that foam. Was thinking of using it in my Aft cabin. Great for the DIY person.
