This was soooo much fun. We took out a 38ft DA and it was a blast. Thanks so much Jeff for recommending this class.

This last weekend I was able to pull in to get fueled up without even touching the dock. (and with Ray's encouragement as he boated by) I even parallel(sp) parked our boat at our friends dock. I absolutely love it and am very confident on my boating abilities. My husband didn't even cringe (ok well not too much!!) but that was because I am pretty slow about it and was just burning fuel:lol:
But slow is better than a dinged up boat right?

Now if I could get my wife interested in learning how to drive and park our boat. I think our kids know more about the boat than mom does.

good for you Drama Queen. Nothing sexier than a woman at the helm of a big boat....

Lonetta...that is awesome!! Ray said there were 5 in the class. My wife and 16 year old daughter took the class last summer. It was very exciting to see my 16 year old daughter backing a 44DA into the slip...oh and she says she needs v-drives now...:smt043:smt043

You gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to your children. You don't want her Captain skills to get rusty do you? She could teach you how to handle the new 44DA so the transition wouldn't be to difficult.

That is the bummer...I have never even had a ride on a 44DA...any my wife and daughter have driven one.....they teased me about that after their class last year.

*OTHERS* would say you need to win the lottery to afford the depreciation. :smt021

BTW, my wife took the class, loved it, and is getting some of her friends to go with her again this year. I have a picture somewehre of MM's captain John on the 44 along with 13 women...

You know I am so glad that I took this class, it was time well spent. I hope more women take it, it's very liberating to know that you can do this and take your boat out by yourself with no hesitations.

I am already planning the next all girls weekend!!!

My wife took the class over mothers day weekend. She got to drive a 40'DA. She thought it was great, and I'm now much more confident that she won't be intimidated by our 280. She doesn't know it yet but this coming weekend she's gonna be driving and I'm gonna sit in the back and soak up a few rays...(at least part of the time out anyway)

The admiral took the women on water last summer at the Brick, NJ Marinemax. All the women that day got to drive and dock a 48DA....not bad!!!!

Below is a pick of the admiral while she was docking.....notice that she's not even looking where she's going....the MM captain was 'shouting' to all the women...."Port reverse"..."Stbd Forward"...etc, etc.....She never even broke a nail....

RR,

I see your motives and my husbands are very similar!! That's ok I like showing off my new "SKILLS"

(oh that sounded bad I meant docking and driving skills only!!)

Nope sorry, I need to add to my sig. I am in Southern Missouri on Table Rock Lake. We are at Port of Kimberling (for now)

Congrat's on the boat handling great accomplishment! That is fantastic. The wife just took hers and was so very happy she did. She has confidence in her boat handling. However "I" live in fear of Mutany..... My eighteen year old took saftey and handling class. She is good. Now my 13 year old completed her boater saftey class. She is anxious. Mutany I tell you! Mutany.....

My admiral was supposed to take that class a couple of weekends ago, but her mother showed up and foiled the plan. I was disappointed that she didn't make it.

Just let me know when the "women on hard liquor" class comes around. I want to watch.
