I finally got to take a ride in the 1988 268 DA I was looking at a few weeks back. I want to thank everyone who put in comments and what to look for in the boat. She seemed okay on power and ride. All gauges worked. I kicked the tires and walked around pounding on the boat and tried everything that everyone suggested. After everything I decided to go ahead with the buying of the boat. Though she is not without some work that needs to be done. She really needs updating and some cleaning I feel we will be okay. It will be a learning curve for us but feel we will enjoy her during the summer. I have purchased some teak oil and we have already started loading things in her for the lake. Going to put it in Brookville Lake in Indiana for the first year and work out any problems we might run up on. She has a trailer so I can move it when needed. If things work out I will try to move her to Lake Michigan next year and start another learning curve in big water. :huh:

Now Terry, there's a long standing rule on CSR.....if you don't post pictures, it didn't happen! We all like to see others using their boats and where they go boating.

Congrats on the purchase. The nice thing about buying a boat that needs some TLC is that when you get her all cleaned up and running well, not only will you have that sense of satisfaction but you'll be more familiar with your boat.
