Well the admiral had her operation on her trapped nerve back on the 12th of may, and took 4 weeks out of her practice, which she extended to 5 weeks, has gone back now to 3-4 days a week with 2-3 patients on those days. And is struggling, she's in bed now, 5 pm in the afternoon. So frustrated that she hasn't got any relief.

Then her Mum, has had a few more falls at home, and ended up in hospital to have her shoulder operated on, her other arm is useless from a fall many years ago. She is now in a rehab hospital for a couple of weeks.

Then my Dad has taken a trip to hospital this week with dizziness and blinding headaches, mini stroke. His heart is weak, and blood pressure low, nothin they can do except medication due to other complications with age. But he's home again.

My wife and I are the support for both her Mum, lives 1 hour away, and my parents, 2 hours away in the opposite direction.

Then my sister in law messages me through the week to let me know my Brother is in the middle of emergency open heart surgery. He is on his 2nd kidney transplant and other complications post the Vietnam War. He is in Adelaide which is 1600km away.

Mum has asked if I will take her down, which of course I will, we will have to organise respite car for my Dad.

Our daughter is in her final year of school and in the middle of major works, so stressing out and having meltdowns.

To top it, in 16 years of business this is the first financial year I have gone backwards in sales to the previous year. Though I know I am far from alone in the present economy

Think I should declare this Whiskey Year!

And to top it off the weather is crap and we had to can our fishing trip!

Ian, things can only get better. I wish them all the best possible.

Well I got the Admiral out for dinner last night. The highest class restaurant in our local area, has some bar tables and stools in the waiting area. Takes a bit of explaining when I ask to actually book one of those!

But they even set I with a table cloth and cutlery for us last night. Bit hard for the wait staff to fit the dishes on, but she got out and enjoyed something other than my culinary skills for a change.

Basically she can't sit down, hence the bar table.

For what's its worth... I'm sitting in a chair with Dr Dewars... Had an accident while working on the boat today....A story for another time. Good luck !

So sorry to hear of your problems Ian, do hope things improve all around for you, especially with your wife's health. Our daughter doesn't have the best of health and she's in private practice and I know how difficult it can be, sincerley hope she improves soon and the other members of your family too. Hang in there:)

best wishes for the family and your capacity for patience :)

also had a big couple of years with family health and all sorts, but it does move on and things find a new level. One can only play the hand they're dealt sometimes.

Regards
Mathew

Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery for all. Glad that you were able to get a dinner out with your wife. A Whiskey Year it will be!
