Hey folks,

I lost the little strap with a snap on it which kept the transom door open. What is that thing called and where do I get one, preferably not at the dealership.

It was just a piece of nylon strap with a screw driven into one side and a snap on the other.

Any canvas shop should be able to make one.

Go to a fabric shop, or a West Marine type store, buy a snap tool and some nylon strap. This is about the easiest thing on a boat you can "Do yourself" besides fuel it up.

'Door Strap" should work. Describe to them what you described to us.....done!

All you really need is the female portion of the snap attached to the strap. They won't know what size the screw is anyway. You'll probably have to figure that out. Might as well have them make a few while your at it. I think we have four different spots where we use them and they pull out of the nylon strap, get lost or whatever happens to them.

Hey Todd, I have seen the other threads regarding do it yourself snaps... do you think one of those plier type snap tools are good enough for this use or do you recommend the more expensive type??

WEBBING, POLYPROPYLENE 1" BLACK according to the SR parts lists.

I had my webbing for my platform ladder cover go bad, also made swaybar straps for my jeep out of similar material.

Go to REI or Westmarine and buy 1 inch webbing. Cut to length, used lighter or other head source to melt the end so it doesn't fray, then install the hardware.

Well, I'm going stay here on CSR and post crappy stuff all day until my PACKAGE from BOE MARINE gets here that I PAID JIM a RIDICULOUS FEE to get today and I have not RECEIVED IT yet. I have to get it to the boat yard TODAY and I AM WAITING.
