Howdy Y'all,

I see a lot of "interesting" boats cruising the ICW in and around Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood FL. I've been seeing the "boat" and never had a chance to take pictures because of light (yes he cruises at night). Lo and be hold I stopped at the watering hole for an adult beverage and the boat was tied up there. I thought maybe it was broken down, and was embarrased to find out after I took the pictures, the owner was sitting on a barstool next to me...

Very cool steering mod

Now that's some fancy stern light....looks like a solar lawn light duct taped up there.....

Very cool stereo mod, with 6x9 speaker sitting on the dash... you can't see the one hanging by wires under the dash...

I love the fuel filter mounted to the rail. makes for easy cleaning.

It must be working for him, he's worn the cushion down with his "tiller" and had to tape it. Nice matching tape to hold the light up. He's legal for night running...

One is held together with duct tape and the other is a cluster mess of rope. Hey Look there is the Honda generator just for you Weave

WOW....that is awesome....Looks like he's got plenty of room in the transom locker!

Hey fellows. What is one mans trash is anothers treasure. I grew up on a 14 ft jon boat with a 15 Hp Mercury. We filled up our freezer with catfish from the trot lines. Depth finder was a broken tape measure with a lead weight. Loved every minute of it. I've been blessed with sucess and love my ride, and some laugh at it. Now to bragg, I retire at 52 in December and will do what I want from that day forward cause I lived BELOW my means and proud of it.

While I can applaud you for living below your means, that's great. One question: What happens if you are hit by a truck tomorrow?

While I certainly have not been living above my means, I have not saved every penny I have earned either. Instead I chose to pursue a life of boating experiences. Have I wasted money? Sure! Will I ever see that money again? Hell no, but I have some great memories spent with my family.

While we are not prepared for a loss of income as well as I would like, looking back over my past, I wouldn't have changed a thing, except becoming a doctor instead of an airline pilot. (And maybe having someone else negotiate my boat deals, I suck at bargining.)

I guess what I am getting at is don't deprive yourself of today hoping for a better tomorrow, it may never come.
