So one weekend two years ago on the island a guy starts filling up a picnic table with bourbon….. right behind my boat. At that same time I have a good friend on board who is a bourbon expert. I said to him ….. Mike check this out…. Mike immediately goes down below and grabs the two bottles he brought and we walk over and sit down with 6 other strangers and start a taste testing. Probably one of the most fun times I have had…. Laughing, telling jokes, stories… just a great afternoon. The ring leader of this after that runs rendezvous all over the Great Lakes and Florida in the winter. We exchange contact info and he has invited me to every rendezvous after that….. we have gone to some really cool places. This weekend is Sandusky for bike week…..impossible to get in but somehow he gets us in right downtown. So I tried to get my bourbon buddy Mike to come but he couldn’t swing it. So he overnited me this bottle and said so you don’t embarrass yourself bringing liquor store bourbon ….. I thought that was so nice and kinda hurtful at the same time.

I just bought a bottle of this for a buddy for Christmas. Then I decided to check this thread to see if it was the same. It is. Interesting coincidence. He gave me a bottle of Bib and Tucker for my birthday.

I have been having a tough time finding the blue label….. I bought this Penelope the other day…. It is pretty good

I saw that in the store as well. If you have Total Wine up there, they carry the Architect (blue label). If you like rum, I suggest Bumbu. First "sipping rum" I have ever had. It is amazing on the rocks. My son makes old fashions with it.

I saw that in the store as well. If you have Total Wine up there, they carry the Architect (blue label). If you like rum, I suggest Bumbu. First "sipping rum" I have ever had. It is amazing on the rocks. My son makes old fashions with it.

No total wine up here….

I was in Barbados’s on a pirate ship 30 years ago…. Ship was all you can drink rum punch….. I got so drunk I spent the night and most of the next day on the bathroom floor hugging the toilet….. never drank rum again…. Just the smell of it makes me gag to this day

My wife is the same with gin. I haven't thrown up from drinking since I was 18. I don't like losing that control. So I don't have that limitation. Now, I didn't drink tequila for 30 years because it made me very violent. Blind rage violent. I was afraid I'd kill someone in a fight. When I tried it again 7 years ago my friends that knew me in college and saw the effects in person were not thrilled about the prospect. But, it no longer has that effect on me.

My local Jewel Food store (Groceries) carries it... easy to get....

I finally found it in an obscure liquor store near my apartment in Michigan …… I literally tripped over it on the floor…. Very good stuff…. Bought his only two bottles
