Anyone have a shore power cord cover they like? I'm regularly connecting/disconnecting from the dock and cord black streaks unavoidably mar up gelcoat in & around the aft storage hatch. You may ask, have I cleaned my cord? Lol, nope, too lazy, so it remains a mess. Marineco has one but sleuthing reviews reveal doesn't last. Here's one tho, might be the ticket but $$. Thoughts?

@Shoyrtt has some chemical, which is posted somewhere on our thread that apparently is just one wipe and done for a nice clean cord.

Thanks. Found Toluene as best. Or Boat Cleaner Pro.

Works great on shore power cables and your Hypalon dinghy tubes. I also used it on my West Marine white vinyl cockpit chairs that needed a little love. Its pricey, but works fantastic!

Goin with it instead of toluene. Thanks.

I ordered some too. Can't wait to try it on the shore power cord and the decals.
Do your best not to inhale the fumes. The product works great as others have said, but the fumes can knock you back a bit. I use it every off season to clean the trim on the swim platform.

Hi Guys,

Cheap, non-wired solution for bow speakers. Thoughts?

So, the JBL flip 5s allow for connection of up to 100 speakers.

Thinking 3x Flip 5s on bicycle mounts for the bow. Removable, transferable, and if you haven't heard these they sound great. Could put two on the bow stair hand rails and another up on the most forward part of the rail.

Compared to adding a third Amp and figuring out wiring this seems like a less expensive 'easy' button for bow sound.

The Admiral was commenting this weekend on getting some sound to the front of the boat. Let me know how the JBL system works. I agree, I don't want a wired system up there.

They are on the way from Amazon, will be able to just try the speakers just sitting on the deck this week, mounts don't get here until next week, ughh.

I did a search on Tommy's boat in the USCG data base. Well before his ownership, the boat was named "My Way". I didn't know that non-accident contacts with the USCG remain with the boat. The prior owner was cited for a BUI and a separate offense for causing a large wake (dangerous or reckless boating) back in 2009.

Finally cleaned shore power cord using MarinePro. Not yellow or stark white but an off-white came with boat. Gloves, doused rag and some good elbow grease, consumed half the can. Not new looking but way better.

Okay, JBL Flip 5s; not elegant, but effective. I may move the forward speaker all the way out to the radius on the bow rail and face it towards the bow seat once I feel like it won't fall off under way. That will get rid if the asymmetry of what I just tested.

Pros, right at $300, no holes in my boat, plenty loud, and can move them anywhere; inside/outside/dinghy/neighbors.

Cons, about 5 minutes to install and remove (don't order the speaker holders I have, had to rig up something to make them tight enough to hold on the rail), they are a little ugly (would hardly be noticeable if I could find white holders), eventually they need charging (advertised 12 hrs of play, but even if they get 6 I'll be happy), very slightly out of sync with Fusion as I am sending two Bluetooth feeds, one to Fusion and one to the master JBL.

Still

From no volume to full, can easily be heard off the boat.

That is how it cleaned up with my shore power cable. Try it on your hypalon dinghy next. :)
