Found on a mooring with at least 1” of fur growing on the chain, Caloosahatchee River, Fort Myers Florida.

that’s not 1, but 2 mismatched outboards. These pics were September and it went away shortly after. It’s back as of last week

hurts my heart!

and then there’s the portable generator that hurts my heart and my brain

I was admiring the trash can on the swim platform. Really classes up the thing.

I wonder if neglected/bad boats is a geographical/socioeconomic thing. For example, I started my "boating career" in Hopewell, VA, where the boats were docked. Everybody commented on how clean and well kept my boats were. Mostly a blue collar area, not known for any wealth.

When I moved the boat to Deltaville, VA it was just an average looking boat even though I continued to keep it clean. I did start to use a boat washing service since it was a longer drive to the boat, and I used the service shop a lot more for the same reason.

Then, when I started boating on the upper Potomac, my boat, though it looked great to me, was probably below average. Lots and lots of big beautiful newer Sea Rays in the area where I am assumed the owners paid big bucks to keep them clean and pretty. A wealthier area as well.

I dunno. I can say the same about cars. I keep mine super clean and maintained yet my neighbors, not so much. Same for my house, I keep up on the maintenance, keep the yard looking good. Others, no so much, perhaps it's not a priority for them. Maybe the guy with the "bad/neglected" boat is happy as a pig in mud to just own the boat.

The admiral calls me OCD with my cars, house and boat. I will go to the marina every 3 days to wash her even if the weather is shit. I grew up middle class with hard working parents who had not much but were always happy. The town next to me was very wealthy and saw these little snot nosed kids have everything and not appreciate it. It drove me nuts as i held 3 jobs to just get by. As i grew up and started to buy big things i always would say i worked hard for this and i would never forget how those entitled kids treated things.
