I'm tired of trying to keep my swim platform clean. I was thinking of covering with spaced teak. Thoughts, concerns? Any advise would be appreciated.

I was thinking of mounting the four inch wide pieces of teak spaced about a half inch apart over the fiberglass platform I can puchase the 5/8" teak for a hundred dollars.
My carpet goes down while at rest and are stowed while under way.... No snaps needed with the rubber backing.

Just curious on this one, but you guys that just lay the carpet down when you leave the boat... aren't you worried about it blowing away? Or, does it really stay put that good?

My thought was the teak wouldn't show every foot print like the white swim platform. I'm afraid a light colored carpet would do the same and would hold water. I also think it would look great. I did not think about the heat, or simply using a cheap carpet or mat and stowing it while under way. Thank you for your help. I plan to order new snap ins this spring and I just might add the plat form.
thats true about footprints on the swimdeck, but it is just a part of boating for me (and it does bug me). If you use a full time carpet, then you would have to deal with the blow holes in the platform..right?
Or do you plan to use it only while at rest or dockside?
cost
$28-30/sq ft material with adhesives
They release the water pressure from under the swim platform. :smt001What are those blow holes for anyway???
