Table Rock Lake

If MM does the same thing there as they did in St. Louis, they will subcontract to local repair shops close to your location.

Should be interesting. I dont see how they can be effective or competitive, when they have to run a truck 1.5 to 2 hours from LOTO to Table Rock. I wonder if they might keep some service guys locally, and you just have to schedule all of the work through the LOTO office. I will talk to some guys this weekend and see they now anything. One of the guys on our dock just bought an '05 48DA....and he was working with the General Manager in Springfield on the deal. He may know some scoop. I wonder what they will do with the Nixa store. Ray told me that MM owned that property (not leased) and he thought they would alway keep a location there.

Jeff, have you heard anything? I sent Zane an e-mail today asking exactly how this was going to work. I still have canvas work and some damage to my windshield that was on my delivery punch list that still hasn't been done. I also have a cockpit light issue that hasn't been fixed in 14 months. How much help will I get from LOTO on these when I had the sevice manager's ear in Nixa and couldn't get it done. I will be interested to see his response.

I will give them a chance I guess. But I've got a line on a couple of local Merc certified shops just in case.

Tim....I talked to Zane last week. He indicated they would have 2 mobile crews from LOTO that would be doing work. He didn't indicate if they would be doing warranty work or service work. One of they guys on staff at our Marina told me over Labor Day weekend, that one of the McGills(cant recall his first name..from Marine Max) talked to the owners of our marina about doing contract service work for Marine Max. I have not heard if they are going to do this yet or not. Let me know what you hear from Zane. He seemed like he really wants to make sure sales and service is maintained at a very high level. That is about all I know.....

Hey guys, I am still around...I am working at "The Harbor" down on Indian Point doing the parts gig and helping write service down here. We aren't doing warranty work and can't get searay direct parts but we can handle anything else you guys' need. We tend to stay on the Indian Point, State Park, Emerald Pointe, area. We don't venture off to kimberling unless we strike up a high demand. Winterizing season is coming up!

Yeah, I'll be down this weekend to get the boat ready to be put up for the season.:smt009 Soccer and football will eat up the rest of fall - I miss boating in the fall...

Keegan, what would you guys charge for a 496 Mag with closed cooling to winterize? Boat has a fresh water system as well...Glad to hear you landed on your feet.

Keegan..welcome to the Harbor. We love being there...I am sure I will see you around. I am on B dock.

Tim...sent you a PM.

Jeff,
How do you like being on Indian Point? Do you run into traffic issues with SDC?

Tim...we really like being on Indain Point and in particular at The Harbor. Last year they redid Indian Point road, so they have a lane for SDC and a lane if your are bypassing SDC and heading south towards the lake. We have just learned what time are not good to try to get to go to the dock...like between 9 and 11am on a Saturday morning....but with the new lanes, it does work better. In about 4 seasons on Indian Point, we have only had 1 time we were stuck in traffic for a long time. It was after Aquapalooza 2 years ago. Storms moved in, we decided to leave the dock, and people were also leaving SDC at the same time. We were on Indian Point Road for about an hour. We found out later SDC stopped all of the traffic and allowed their lots to empty. I think they caught some heat over that decision.

Sounds like the weather is going to be sunny and in the low 80's this weekend.

I've never taken our boat up that side of Indian Point, so I didn't even know The Harbor was there. Looks nice on their web site. We have our condo in Emerald Pointe for sale. As soon as it sells (could take awhile) we are going to look for a bigger one, and our realtor keeps pushing IP. My wife can't get past keeping the boat on a lift, she likes the high and dry. And being able to walk to the dock from our condo is a big plus. But I'm putting the cart before the horse.

The weather does look great for the weekend. I am bringing my youngest (a newly minted teenager at that) down for the weekend to clean out the boat and condo. Looks like we'll get some boating in too. Maybe we'll come up and take a look at the Harbor.

Tim...I will probably on be down on Sunday afternoon this weekend. We have several boats on our dock, that the owners have condos on IP. I agree with you, being able to walk to the dock would be much more convenient. Another thing I forgot to mention. We live a couple of miles off of HWY 65. So we take 65 south to 465(aka the high road), which exits on 76 about 2 or 3 miles from Indian Point Road. So access via the high road is great.

Yup, I figured the High Road would be the way to go if we bought something on IP or in KC. But I just really like our setup at Emerald Pointe, at least until they drop our boat.

It sounds like you can get to the dock from your house pretty quick. I would love to be less than 3 1/2 hours from our boat! Oh well, I'll have to put off looking for a job in Springfield until the kids are done with high school. They would kill me if I tried to move them now - and I mean that literally. They would kill me for the life insurance so they could stay where they are.:smt043

Well, we would have gone to look at the Harbor if Hollister hadn't turned into Seattle for the weekend. Man, cold rain and fog, it was ugly. At one point it looked like the only boat on the entire lake was the Belle, and you could barely see it for the fog.

Oh well, 7 hours of driving to sit in our condo and watch college football. I did get the carpet off the boat so I can clean it at home. Now we're done for the year, 2nd year in a row that Labor Day marked the end of our season:smt089.

Yeah...the weather was crappy all weekend. We did not end up going down on Sunday. Hopefully next weekend will be better.
