Swimplatforms.com Install

I went with the sit on top version. I like the no step idea. I will post some pics of the final install .

I like the look of that one as well and the fact that it is higher off the water. My only concern is the additional weight, since the stern of our boats with twins sits pretty low as it is.

I wish mine was the sit on top version - I would like a couple deck chairs on the platform. They just came out with that version for the 250's recently.

That was my concern also GM. I will let you know how she sits in the water. I am also swapping to 4 blade props and some hydrofoils. To help get on plane quicker

I needed the lower one so the admiral's feet could touch the water when sitting on it.

Well it looks like you might be the source of all kinds of usefull information shortly. I'd be interested to know if the foils & 4-blades reduce your minimum planing RPM as well.

started my install today

Congrats to the OP for the positive outcome, No doubt Al is a class act. I just ordered my platform from him as well after about two weeks of email correspondence. Very excited waiting for the big plywood crate in three weeks ish. Sal A, Here is a three part series with pointers. The real install starts on part 2. From what I understand the install is pretty straight forward, and the instructions and tech support are top notch but seeing it first is kinda nice. I've been taking notes so I'm ready to install when it arrives. Sal A let us know how the install finishes up. Best of luck to ya.

Looks real nice Sal A.
Nauti medic, I saw that video also and it was useful for my install.

We installed a Swimplatform on my son's 215 last year and we came up with a slightly different method from the instructions. These things are VERY heavy and require some support until bolted on. We used some concrete blocks, wooden 2x4's and plywood shims plus some carpet to come up with the exact height needed to put the platform at the correct height. You have to put it up there, mark and then take it back off to apply caulk. The makeshift support system we used made it easy for two of us to lift it off and on each time. The project came out perfect and it was a significant improvement to his boat!! Gelcoat and fit was perfect, looks like a factory installed option.

I watched the video about 20 times the install was not to bad other then the two bolts on the outside corners a little tape to hold the nut and washer on the wrench. It all worked out .I just have the outside support poles and I want to caulk around the platform to give it a finished look .

I have to get a longer drill bit GM so that is just sitting on there to ck clearance

Mine just arrived and can't wait to put it on
Went with the over the top so not to have a step

Stud a word of advice use rubber gloves and wear long sleeves the 5200 sucks to get off. Also on final install put outside corner bolts in and get the nuts started before you put inside corner bolts in. Also I used painters tape around the edge so when the 5200 oozed out of the bolt holes it did not get on the platform..
