Boat Info
2001 340 Sundancer, RayMarine A98 MFD, HD Color. 7.4 Hurth V-Drives + Genset.
Engines
7.4 MPI with V drives
Thinking about replacing original swim platform with a customize one. I hang my RIB off the platform and cannot access swim ladder - a safety concern. Will relocate ladder to port corner. I have visited Swimplatform.com in Phoenix and they seem to build nice products. A fantasy is to extend the hull and have an integrated swim platform which should help the ass-heavy 340. I have 7.4 V-drives w/genset. With a few adults and a cooler, getting on a plane is not always possible. Ideas? Experience anyone?

Just had them (swimplatforms.com) build one for my 260. So far it looks great. Can't wait to test it out on the water. They were great to work with.

I looked at Swimplatform.com back when I had my 240. Liked their product but instead of dumping money into a boat that didn't suit my needs we decided to move up.

I agree that the the 01 340 is a bit heavy in the back but I have never had a problem getting it up on plane even when I was heavy loaded for a week trip or with many people on board. I wonder why you'd have problems get her up.

We had one built for our 36DB it arrived damaged and swim platforms.com paid for all the repairs. Everyone that saw it loved it it added almost 3' to our boat. That's where I mounted my dinghy davits and had plenty of room to walk in front of the dinghy and open the transom locker. We had a few people dancing on it in an anchorage so I know it's built correct
y. We dealt with Art he was fantastic.i highly recommend them if that's the way you go

I am wanting to add a swim platform on my 2011 350 sundancer. How was the one from swim platforms braced underneath? Did you have to add any reinforcement to the transom? Thanks

Put one on my 270 this spring from them. Fit great. Looks great. Excellent quality. The family loves the extra room. Highly recommend them.

The platform bolts through the transom and they supply stainless rods (supports) pretty simple install but youll need a few friends or forklift. We built temporary supports that where adjustable in height

Matt50 replaced his swim platform on his '02 340... I would suggest you PM Matt...

Go to a local boat builder if possible. I went to Jack Henriques from Henriques custom fishing boats, they extended my existing platform They cut off the lip and sides of it.beveled it down and added twenty inches to it. Extra reinforcments and 3 stainless support rods. Now I carry my jaetski on it and everyone that sees it says it looks like it was fr4om searay factory original.

Defiantly Swimplatforms.com I installed one on my 300 dancer 7 years ago and it has been great! That being said it does add a lot of extra weight (so I put counter weight in the bow) it does sit low to the water which is good and bad depending on where you dock the boat. The last 2 years the waves have pounded it and it has held up fine but it is always in the back of my mind. All in all it was the Best few thousand I have ever spent. It has made my boat and it has sold a few others on my lake.

Have the props done at a PropScan or Hale shop and enlarge the tabs.
Assuming the 340 was as undertabbed as the 330, the changes will make a world of difference.
