My stove needs replacing on the 2005 year Sea Ray
It almost started a boat fire last week, I think its a Kenyon model and original from 2005.
Based in Sydney hence the 275 reference to the boat
Just wondered what recommendations owners have for replacing this stove as im not sur eof the precise model reference

Pressurized or non-pressurized? Kenyon can rebuild them and has great customer service. The flame can be intimidating to some users when lighting and using too much fuel in the burner cup. I've used the pressurized alcohol for over 20 years and the best part is there are no harmful fumes to worry about when it's burning AND it can easily put out using water. On my boat, I can turn the faucet over to the stove and let 'er rip! I've never had to do that, but it makes me feel good! Mine also has the electric elements that I use when on shore power.

The non-pressurized version is easy to light but doesn't put out as much heat. I've got some experience with those and I really didn't care for them due to the lack of heat output and time to boil/cook things.

I have the original Kenton in my 92 300DA. I have talked to Kenyon and they have no true replacement and didn't want to reseal the unit. I've not tried to look hard for seal replacements locally. Just went and bought a butane stove to use outside.

I removed my Kenyon and installed a Magma marine kettle 3 on the swim platform. I cook everything on it including coffee and homemade pizza. It’s nice to keep the heat and the mess outside. Not to mention it runs on propane which is cheaper and easier to find than those butane canisters.

thats a good idea - our boat already has an external bbq
might use that and a jetboil for hot water

You can get portable butane burners. Best source might be a restaurant supply place as these are commonly used for table side cooking/presentation. For your existing Kenyon, you may be able to find a compatible sized electric unit. That won’t help away from the dock, but when on shore power you will be able to cook a little more conveniently.
