State sponsored fuel price relief

Not sure about the rest of you, but our electric bill seems to be the most expensive bill besides food in our household. I couldn’t imagine what it’d be like if we had a 240v rapid charger charging every night in the garage.

It would be like adding a hot tub. 10-15% increase to the bill

The last 31 days, I used 707kWh which is about $42 in electricity. Much better than the almost $300 in gas would have been.

Weird. I guess I'm reading this incorrectly then. Reading more, MN is roughly .33per kWh for a super charge. Maybe my math is incorrect, but that comes too $233.31 per month if I used 707kWh. You're getting a great rate of $.06 per kWh...amazing.

It comes down to cost per mile and that varies with the cost of gas, price per KWH and the distance you can travel with it.

EV’s have no choice, they must be plugged in.

Plug-in hybrids offer another option.

On electric, at my rates, it cost me 6.3cents/mile.
Gas at $4.15 cost me 10.9 cents/mile.
I’ll keep plugging in and charge it up for now. My break even price is around $2.39/gallon of gas.

We have 2 different rates in Missouri currently:

Winter - $.0881 October through May
Summer - $.14 June through September

Plus we have a fixed charge of $9/month for the privilege of paying for our electricity. I personally prefer to maximize my carbon footprint, YMMV.

With my work which requires driving, I cant afford to stop every 300-400 miles and charge for a day when I'm driving almost 1K in a week. Top that off with our extremely cold temps and we're looking at shorter distances.

As mentioned in other threads, if I was retired in FL and was for the most part in my immediate area, I'd consider one. However, why spend $60K on an EV when I could buy a really cool golf cart to get around in my community?

About 5 years ago we were paying .18/kwh. Not sure what it is now but likely over .20. They just published the other day that our full-time police officers are making $61/hour and they use electric funds to pay the police department so guessing we will see an increase this year. We also pay a monthly surcharge to have the privilege of having electric. Our town owns the electric dept. They buy from the major supplier that most everyone around here uses then tacks on their upcharge. They have a monopoly as we have no other options

Yeah. I challenged my buddy to a race from Chicago burbs to Bloomington IN -- about 274 miles. According to the Tesla web site, he would need to stop at Meijer in Lafayette IN for 20 min. to make it. I go non-stop, with enough gas to make it back to Indy. :)

We have an electric co-op. It is tiered rate https://www.cuivre.com/residential-electricity

Residential Energy Charges
  • $0.0945 per kwh for First 400 kwhs per billing period
  • $0.0750 per kwh for Next 1400 kwhs per billing period
  • $0.0565 per kwh for Over 1800 kwhs per billing period

Brandon releases 1 million barrels a day from strategic reserves.

US consumes 20 million barrels a day.

That might move the price what? 2c a gallon?

I’d like to know who’s really running the country. All Brandon does is squint at the teleprompter.

The problem is the average voter thinks a million is a big number and votes for this bozo
