Just wondering if it will cause a problem if i put the boat in gear while it is hooked up to the garden hose? Should that be an issue? I need to test how it goes in and out gear and dont want to take it to the lake everytime i want to test.

I have done that, but only for a short time... less than one minute..

I usually remove the prop and make sure the hose can't get wound up in the shaft and you should be fine. I plan to do the same thing this weekend.

I do it all the time and I've watched mechanics do it many times as well. It's an easy to test the interrupter switch and the other adjustments as well.

Reving the engine in gear while out of water is supposedly bad for the drive. It's supposed to have some sort of drag on it.

Few times won't hurt a thing.

Great i just need to do it long enough to adjust the shifter cable. Make an adjustment start the engine put it in gear see if it shift easier then shut it off. I just wasnt sure....i will def keep the hose out of the prop, as i could see a potential issue there!
