Thank you! I tried ti with the auto pilot on & then off...I also disconnected the auto pilot...all I am getting is the "GPS Off". Iwas told it was the antenna, so I bought a new one & that did not help...any other ideas? Is there somewhere to turn the GPS/port on the navigator on/off?

Good luck to you.

Hey there, just wondering if you ever figured out the problem.
Let me know what the solution was. I too sometimes get this message on my unit.

Thanks

Re: SR Navigator GPS Help

Hi Gang, Re: GPS off ... I had this intermittent problem , over a 3 mo period, which ultimately failed ( both Navs ) in the same day. I had recalled rinsing antennas more directly than usual the day before. I Disassembled one antena, which revealed rust , corrosion with a small piece falling onto hardtop ! Replaced both w/ upgraded antennas and 25' of cabling. Problem solved.....! You can also ck the USB plug to Navigator. Sometimes just reseating plug will do..... Double ck plug on the back side of autopilot panel. Good luck

Re: SR Navigator GPS Help

What Antennas did you buy.
Where did you get them and how much were they?

Re: SR Navigator GPS Help

Steve, I'm new to this site ... With all these reply tabs at the bottom,I'm not sure my prior reply got to you....So again, From memory, I think the antennas were $350 or so each. Similar appearance with an upgraded seal/gasket to keep moisture out. Call Mark 410-270-1390 ( Annapolis) He's the Maptech expert.... If you have the Searay Navigator

Steve, I was on the boat today , the new antennas were Si-tex GPK-11 , WAAS capable, @ $ 230/ea. The box comes with antenna, wiring diagram and plenty of cable. If you are forced to cut and splice, let me know... Tim

Thanks for the info.
Did it have the same connector as your previous Maptech unit ?

Very jealous that you are at the boat. Mine is sleeping untill May.

Steve , Reply # 9 for purchase info ,but there may be a closer supplier. The connectors are the same ! Since the 60 Da cannot be transported by road, the question arouse, is there a straight run to the navigator or a half way point like the rest of the fleet. Nobody knew, so I removed the aft cockpit stbd courtesy light to gain access to the cables for pulling purposes. Then removed the aft cockpit stbd speaker and upholstery and found the connectors !! No need to feel jealous , the boat is high & dry. This is the first year I've not done the snow bird thing. Now that " she's " reached six yrs, it's time to do some serious preventive maintenance. In FL, I'm ALWAYS tinkering and staying ahead of maintenance items during the winter, but now I'm forced to do things that are due and that require down time.
