Spring?

Haven't done much yet pulled the props to change the zincs and brought them home to clean up. Next weekend home to reinstall the batteries and clean the bilge couple of other things not pulling shrink for a couple more weeks. thru maybe paint the outdrives next weekend. Depends on weather. Launch mid April.

Hi Derek, Excellent! I actually got the light sanding and paint done today, so happy to be done. Now the wax! I hope to be in April 2.

hi russ little tip when you make the boards for your dingy davits make the center where the hull sits thick enough so tubes of dinghy sit above ledge so it does not rub on sides you can still open hatch no problem .Also your making me have crazy thoughts of taking cover off but im going to wait to end of marchK, my boat is stored in water in charles river . good luck your boat looks great.

Just finished a long weekend of removing the wrap, cleaning, painting, waxing, installing zincs, batteries and eisenglass and canvas. Boat should be getting launched TOMORROW!!!
Head down tomorrow to plug in shore power and wait for a nice day to fire up the engines!!

Good advice, thank you. Go for it! No guts, no glory! Whats the worst a little snow? Its great getting back to it.

i would wait till first week of april...we waited this long!

I applaud your restraint :smt038 But cmon, didnt your parents let you open one gift on Christmas eve?! :smt089

I appreciate the warm weather opportunity, although premature, much needed relief - without I may have gone :smt101

Right now I have Weaver davits, flip her up and I have a single stay that holds it upright. I am looking at fabricating some slide on davits. I also just bought some 7" pop up cleats that I was going to mount in the side of the swim platform to double as hold downs and an easier place to tie up when returning to the boat. Too many projects too little time!

Russ, I'm in the middle of fabricating my davit arms so far made the brackets that slide into the weaver quik kit and picked up 1" starboard to fab the arms out of . I traced the bottom of the dink and made a template . I'll post some pics soon (just one of my many projects also)

Stayed on the boat last night and barely needed the heater! Got up and replaced both starters with brand new, cleaned the strainers, checked the battery level and finally used compound then polish on the transom where the new lettering was finally installed.

Of course I had to fire them up so stopped by the gas dock :smt089 then went for about an hour cruise with the Admiral and Grandaughter. Lots more action at the marina since it was sunny and 65 degrees!

I have a lot to do one mine (at least it feels like a lot for this first time boater) before I get her into the slip in April.

- Zincs
- Sand and paint parts of my BIII
- Wash and wax the hull
- Repair 2 spots on the vinyl
- Install a porta potti
- Install underwater LED lights
- Clean all canvas (dirty from the guy I bought it from)
- Install a few snaps on the carpet that have come off

Yea - Seems like a lot to me.

If the temps stay in the 50's this week, the wrap will come oof the weekend of 20 March!

SE Ga, right now, 56 and sunny, high today 72 and still sunny, spring is getting closer here.

Excellent, I would love to see them. What kind of dink and how did you trace it?

C'mon thats not a big list! Might seem like it but it will go really fast. Careful because before you know it you will be looking forward to doing it all again!
Sounds crazy, I know

Ken, Maybe your girlfriend/wife should visit Scott to help melt the ice... Won't take too long...:smt043

I can share with Sea Ray brother! When it's warm enough I'll send her out. Just have the boat fired up and she likes nothing but Dom and caviar....and me! :smt038

I've finally got my boat in a state that I can take it out for a serious run tomorrow...

Throttles right... shifters left....

About an hour trip yesterday, cruised at less than 10mph except getting on plane to keep her bottom clean and let the engines breath. We are going to come into real good weather herevery soon! Low 60's most of this week but should start to climb right after that. I can't wait for 90 degree days and warm water on the Delta!

Russ, i have a west marine sb285 by zodiac, its 9' long with a 4-11" beam i inflated it and traced the bottom using cardboard. took the cardboard to work transferred that to plywood and made small adjustments , I purchased a sheet of poly pro (similar to starboard) some better qualities , 1" thick i'll clamp the plywood to the plastic and run a flush bit router around it to cut it out then use a 1/2 round bit to round all the edges. shouldnt be too hard

Joe,

Excellent! Looks great. Sorry for asking a stupid question but my hardbottom has a deep V and i want to get as close as possible. How exactly do you trace it with cardboard?

Russ I got them very close i kept trimming it until i was satisfied . it has an inflatable keel and a flat stern so it wasnt very difficult we'll see how the plastic trimming goes.
