Twin 350 V Drives
Last season before putting the boat away, both engines had,
  • Raw water pumps changed
  • Complete spark plug change
  • Oil and filters changed (engine and generator)
  • Transmission fluids and filters changed.
Now before spring splash I completed the following,

  • Changed both windshield wipers
  • Changed all the zincs
  • Changed the IAC mufflers and cleaned spark arrestors
  • Changed all fuel filters (engines and generator)
  • Cleaned and water proofed all canvas
  • Bottom paint
  • Complete wax
  • Installed new registration stickers
  • Put Beer in the frig.
Am I forgetting anything??

Looks good... I usually run the the boat on land make sure it sounds right and there are no leaks...

Yeah. You forgot to drive down to my marina and help me do all of those things.

I've already got the beer covered. I don't do domestic beer. You like English, Irish or German? Ale, lager, or Belgian?

What did you use to clean and water proof your canvas?

I saw a few threads regarding this, but was just curious.

Canvas cleaner:

After it dried, I used this: 22 oz bottle was enough

I also used this on the underside of the canvas to remove some mildew

Thanks Bill!

That was my next question as my canvas has some mildew (ok, a lot of mildew) from the previous owner who didn't care for the canvas much.

Bitburger... Midway stocks it:thumbsup:

What about engine alignment you mentioned in another thread and the head vent filter?

I just ordered those products - thanks! BTW - I saved about 20% by ordering from iboats.com. I ordered from there as West Marine was out of stock on the Star Brite.

Yea I need to start doing the same thing, trouble is when I get the bug up my ass to start doing something else West Marine is right up the road.

Yea, I don't have one here. I have a few local marinas and a small Marine Max. Online saves me some $$$ so I have more for gas this year!

Bill - One other question if I may. What do you use to clean your vinyl? I have read many different things and thoughts on this site and there are a lot of differing opinions.

Now that I have the canvas cleaners/waterproofer ordered, I am going to cut the wrap next week and get going. I would like to have the vinyl cleaner as well.

One day I'll have a boat like yours!

Thanks!

I use SD 20 for that, http://www.irvansmith.com/scart/sd20-all-purpose-cleaner-p-520.html?utm_source=googprod&utm_term=ISC-SD-20 but there are many options for that including many household cleaners such as Soft Scrub. The SD 20 works great on those dirty black marks you get on the seats while you’re working on the boat and come up with dirty hands.

I will coat all the vinyl with Aerospace 303 Protectant after it has been cleaned.

Bikini Wax? Those winters can be brutal!

Well, of COURSE I meant your wife!!!
