Spent a couple of Hours with Frank W

When looking at others boats, I've always thought that you can tell how a boat is cared for by the appearance of the ER. No question on how that boat is cared for.
Well done, but after almost a year on this site viewing your posts Frank, I kind of had that picture in mind all along.

Very nice ER Frank. Looks like there's space for crew quarters. I bet it's a pleasure servicing your boat with such an easy access to everything. You should hide these pictures from 320 owners, LOL...just kidding.

Alex, myself and all of the 320 owners will not be sharing our storage box pictures in the bilge. There is so much room the rest of you all would just be jealous.

The boxes are impressive on the 320's, but we won't share them.

Frank - Nice bilge, cleaner than most hotels, maybe I can reserve space and sleep in your bilge the next time I am in Florida.

Thanks for the compliments guys..........

That is really a battery box with tool trays above the batteries. Going to AGM batteries that do not give off corrosive gasses lets you do some creative things with the space around the battery locations. John happened by on the day I was changing the oil and the tool box was open when he saw it. He was faster with the camera than I was in closing the lid.

And, I have been known to eat lunch in the engine room on cold boat maintenance days......

Do you have 2 holding tanks? What are those ball valves for? I've never seen that....

The engine room is incredible (especially once they start purring) but there is nothing like Frank allowing you to get in the Captain's chair...I still brag about this trip every chance I get.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Gary,

The boat has 2 heads. Each head has its own Vacuuflush system so each head is completely separated from the other. There is, however, only on dockside pump-out and one mascerator so the ball valves allow you to isolate one side from the other when you pump out.

Scott:

Yes both my boat and its owner are dinasaurs. We don't have SmartCrap or electronic synchronizers/gee-whizz for engine control. But everything works all the time and we do get home every time we leave the dock.

Wes has got the steering wheel in the "old bus driver" position.

The more I read about these happy 450 owners the more I want one......

The next thing you know, Turtle will be buying one and writing iPhone applications for them....geesh!!!

fwebster for President! His help when purchasing my 320 and selling my 260 was so appreciated.

well at least it looks like you are in control... 6mph, but still in control.

For those of us that come over from SRO, you may remember a similar photo another member took of his engine room. That was several years ago and the room was just as clean. I'm beginning to doubt he actually uses his boat. :>) I keep mine as clean as I can, but no matter how hard I try, there's always something I missed. Maybe I need to buy a 450 so I have more room to clean...ha..ha!
