Soundbar and wireless subwoofer for the TV

Holy Phuck…… we had a party Saturday night 20 people coming to the new house…we literally moved in Friday…. I’m all dressed up fancy shirt….. about an hour before the party my wife says where are you going…. I said to hook up the water softener ……. She goes no come sit down …. I said this will take a half hour. Shut off the water cut half way thru the pvc line and the phucking water explodes….. soaks me from head to toe…… flooding the closet going under the floor into the hallway……. It’s flooding the house and I can’t stop it……. My wife is screaming at me…… so get her to hold the pipe….. now she is getting soaked…… I get zip ties and electrical tape

Stop the gong show….. we used every towel in the house to mop up the mess….. just get that done and the door bell rings…… first guests are here….

the house was plumbed backwards….. I light up the builder they end up coming out reluctantly….. because they blamed me for not hiring a plumber….. he goes you’re right the house is plumbed backwards…… no shit Einstein
That is why I always keep several roles of Rescue tape in the house, in the car and on the boat.

I guess I never said "what I am looking for". Current set up has a very TL1 Polk Center Channel, 2 Polk TSi100 bookshelves acting as the front surrounds and a Polk 8" down firing sub. Connected to a Denon AVR 1312. I have been happy with it, purchased everything about 11 years ago. TV is a 42" Samsung that's about 6 years old. Receiver, Cable Box, DVD Player and Center Channel all sit under the TV on a console table. Does well for music and TV. Sub is hidden behind the TV.

We are rearranging furniture, rooms and the like and the TV is going into a smaller room. I don't want to bring all of the big bulky audio stuff into that room, so I want something smaller. I've been watching TV in the new TV room for a week, first thing I noticed I miss is the center channel. We watched an episode of Outer Range the other night and I missed the rumble and surround as well. So, I am looking to replace this with something smaller, ideally for under $500. If it's more than $500 I might as well bring the big bulky stuff in and use it. My plan was to keep big bulky stuff in the adjacent room for music only though.
I paid $300 for my Sony system 4 years ago. Still sounds great. No rear speakers but it does an admirable job simulating surround sound. And the bluetooth sub hits hard. There are lots of systems between high end and mid-level that are less than $500 that are very good.

Oh really …… try moving and storing your stuff for three months…. Then move in and try to remember which box the tape is in….. it was quite the cluster Phuck …… I can laugh now but damn ….it was a stressful situation

Ditch the foam earplugs. They’ll save your hearing, but kind of ruin the concert experience get a set of these instead. Reduces the overall volume but the music still sounds good. Makes it so you can actually enjoy the concert without being in horrendous pain afterwards.

Thanks for the tip on these - just ordered them as I go to a lot of concerts and sometimes it’s so loud it hurts.

Lol, I have been in the same house 26 years and I can't remember where shit is. Which explains why I have to have "several" roles.

My Polk bookshelf speakers have been on the floor for 12 years. I never liked the quality of the mids and highs for music. Last night, after a couple of beers and jamming to some Yacht Rock I though "Hmmm, lets put them up higher, off the floor..."

Wow, I had no idea, the mids and highs were amazing. I guess that's why they are called bookshelf speakers...

It's funny how that happens when you use them the way Polk intended...:D
