Today was not really different than most other Sundays. I dropped my daughter at Sunday school and attended service in the sanctuary. After the service there were Loudoun county deputies in the parking lot and church office. It seems someone stole purses and other items from church staff during the service. I was shocked. But even more frightening is the fact that several churches have been targeted in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William counties as well as the city of Leesburg Virginia. The story is a woman meets with the pastor looking for a new church home while actually scoping things out. During the service she leaves to steal while her accomplice keeps watch. The suspect is a white female and male who look to fit right in.

These people are disgusting! Who steals from a church? Seems the real target is the collections which we were fortunate not to loose today. this is a line even the most hardened criminal hesitates to cross and you have to be a special kind of a$$ hole to target a church. I heard the FBI is now getting involved so hopefully they will bring these two to justice.

I hope they are caught and hung by their testicles.

Wow... Sorry to hear about the theft... people really are sad... I do hope that they catch them...

You missed the memo on "Occupy Churches"? It's not fair... you 1%'ers in N. VA need to pay.

That sucks. It's the last sacred place yet, who leaves their personal belongings like that anywhere where they can't be secured? We do lock and security work on many churches here and there are more and more needing to lock up areas for this reason. It's too bad for sure.

It's a sorry person that steals from a church. Our Offerings in our church are quite large because of our size. Due to this and child care we have off duty officers on campus. It's costly but to protect our kids and the integrity of our staff they are there. Even church folks can be tempted. When you open the door to folks who are in need both spiritually and financially then you run the risk of this happening. It's not an indictment of the church but a commentary of goodwill offered by the church then taken advantage of by a few.

To quote a verse: "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord." You gotta believe that they will get theirs in due time. You may not see it but it will happen or Gods a liar.

AMEN... EXACTLY RIGHT OLDSKOOL!:smt038

"Hardened Criminals" hesitate at no lines. Nothing is "sacred" to them. Scumbags are as scumbags do.

I hope they get busted and "resist" arrest like that POS David Laffer did after executing 4 people at a pharmacy for Oxycontin this past fathers day.

As someone once told me... "A church is a place that sinners attend"....

Amen brother all of us who attend church and take time out to put together shoe boxes of gifts to send around the world need to "give it up" to the Occupiers...sucks o be a 1%er sometimes..Sorry to hear about your church prayers for the people who lost their belongings and now have to stop and take time to re-build their lives

what a low-life, only the skum of the earth will steal from the church!!! Our church does so much to help the community and we often see people trying to double dip and lie to get as much as they can from the church. Our small church of 200 active members gives out tons and tons of money and service every year to the community regardless of their religious faith. If someone is truly in need and is a trying the hardest they can to get by, we have no problem helping them out. A lot of the people we help are great people just in a bad situation......Now if you steel from a non-profit church trying to help the world, you deserve to rot in jail....and not the soft more like club jails that exist today.
