some kind of scam????

typical Nigerian scam - check out "choppy" wording.....if you do hear back it will be some BS story about being overseas or on an oil rig somewhere and you need to wire a deposit blah blah blah

My bet it's someone harvesting the email addresses of people interested in large used boats. Could even be someone working at a dealership who figured out a creative way to prospect for new leads.

surprised no one mentioned the 'propulsion type' stated in the upper right side of the ad.....it list 'human' as being the propulsion type..........

When I was looking for my current boat I ran across an ad on CL that was a good deal. It had no phone number so I emailed and told the guy it was close enough for me to take a look at it.
All of a sudden the boat was across the US in Florida and the guy was in Hawaii in the service, and for a deposit of $500.00 we would ship it to me to look at. I called him out and that was the end of it.
Maybe this guy is trying something similar.

Wait Wait I saw it on the internet, It has to be true..... Right.

I saw that too Cliff... I was like human propulsion, that must be legit... :)

Point of order Frank!!! Assuming the barrel also contains water....... They're fish! Isn't that their environment? ;-)

the guy got back to me.

he stated that I need to direct all my questions to his Gmail account

lol. I just got a reply from this guy the other day. same thing. What keyed me right in was that instead of answering any questions, he asked me to reply to his gmail. if you google his e-mail address all that comes up are other cl ads from different places for the same boat, even a few in germany. It's definitely a scam.

also, the same one i saw listed in norfolk cl.

there was a phone number on the ebay ad i text the guy he said he sold the boat two years ago
so trying to sell it now would be a crime correct?
