Earlier this week I prepped the the bike for this year's riding season. Oil changed, tire pressures set, washed and waxed etc. Beautiful spring day in Colorado yesterday. I figured what a good way to distance. A solo ride. Did ride by a local reservoir and was surprised that it was open and people were out fishing and boating.

2013 Honda CB1100. An aircooled throwback to the original CB750-4. Updated from the original with fuel injection, a large oil cooler, double discs in front and a single disc on the back. I have done a few minor changes to the stock bike, the fairing being the most noticeable. I think the last ones sold in the US were 2017 or 2018 model year. Not sure if they are still made for overseas markets. Typical Honda, runs like a sewing machine, shifting is a little notchy, and tuned more for torque than horsepower. Very comfortable riding position for me.

I thought it looked a lot like the 750-4. I had a 750-4 when I was in the Navy in the early 80's.

I always rode Hondas. Well, except for a Cushman Eagle I had when I was in high school. I bought it from a friend, owned it for a couple of years and rode the heck out of it. I never changed over the title, never licensed it, just rode it.

After that I had an XL350 then a 750 then a Gold Wing 1000, then an 1100, then an Aspencade. Then I had a close call one day and got out of riding. It was waaaay too close for comfort and I saw the light.

Had a ‘86 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 V-Twin for years. Too many close calls, too many young kids. Had to sell my darling.

Kids are older. Starting to get the bug again.....
