Of course the first U.S. Omicron case was in a vaccinated individual. Otherwise the individual could not have traveled internationally. The covid shots don't prevent infection, only reduce it. They were designed to reduce severe disease and death and the data shows they do. It remains to be seen how effective they will be against Omicron.

Are we sure it was from someone traveling abroad, or from some of the E. Africans crossing the southern border illegally?
Which countries are using ivermectin? I'm genuinely curious as I don't know of any countries which have embraced ivermectin treatment as national policy.
BTW, I would be all for ivermectin use if it would just pass scrutiny as being effective as the covid shots have done. Unfortunately, every study has either been retracted or has not shown a benefit. There are still ongoing trials so perhaps it will prove out but I suspect the trials would have been suspended if ivermectin had shown any dramatic benefits.
AFAIK, vaccinated athletes are merely testing positive and undergoing isolation (as are unvaccinated). Entirely to be expected since vaccination doesn't prevent infection. Which ones have been hospitalized or died?

As a medical professional, I would think you should know that antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses.
You should brush up on your vaccine history. Lots of earlier vaccines didn't prevent infection and spread. See the original polio (IPV), pertussis, rotavirus, and others.

Many doctors didn’t own lab equipment so they weren’t able to diagnose if infection was bacterial or viral. So antibiotics became the first line when little Johnny had a fever. This went on for decades. Driven by demanding parents.
The medical community started to see antibiotics become less and less effective in fighting all kinds of infections such that there was an explosion of new antibiotic products developed in response to the ineffectiveness of for example penicillin.
Lastly, to the two idiots who can’t read, I’ve posted many times that there is no vaccine for viruses.
