So let's hear about and see your cars.

I found this ‘52 Willys Overland rusting away in a junk yard and restored it as best I could myself piece by piece to original condition. I used to take it out to the local car meets but I got a lot of serious bad attitude from the guys who paid top dollar to have a 50’s Chevy turned into a hotrod by people who claim to be mechanics. Not really sure what their issue was but now all I do is cruise alone as the meets ceased to be fun.

Beautiful!

I was mid restoration on a '72 Chevelle. Completed all the panel replacement (literally every panel) and threw it in storage during a move. A tornado decided to come through while I was back in my hometown. I literally saw the car on the helicopter news shots. Circled in red. The other locations circled are where I had stuff stored in the facility. Just demolished.

Holy smoke!!

When and where specifically was this Doug?

I can't imagine getting any kind of fair settlement on the car from insurance.

With that classic, I'd cruise with ya anytime in any one of my hotrods.
I might need a tow also.

I've had this somewhat rare Infiniti M45 since new in '03. I've had a company car for the past 4 years but retired a few weeks ago so I'm recommissioning it.

4.5 litre V8 and rear wheel drive. I've never seen another one on the road as only about 7000 were sold in this country over 2 years.

Ugh, sorry that happened, landed next to a Jet Ski though ;)

Nice, brings back a memory of my first IT job. CTO had one of these and used to take us out, that was a FAST machine.

Hopefully you had insurance to get you somewhat whole.
I also owned a Chevelle. A 1970 SS 454 (couldn't document it. The engine had been rebuilt and the block was decked (no more VIN stamp). This was in the early 80's so they weren't crazy priced either way. I did tear out the interior and pull the gas tank looking for the build sheet. No luck.

It really is and isn't some floating luxury boat. It takes effort to drive and has the road and steering feel of a 70s muscle car.

Garland, TX (just east of Dallas) - 12/27/2015.

Route 30 and George Bush.

People's cars got blown off the overpass that were like 5 stories high during the storm. When people got on site to help, some of them were decapitated...Still strapped into their belts.

Get this... everything was insured back in PA all through State Farm - car insurance, homeowners, etc. I told state farm I was moving but putting everything in storage but the necessities. I was going to live in an apartment until I got the lay of the land and decided to purchase a home. They sold me a renters policy for the apartment and a rental policy for contents in the storage facility. The policy got maxed out on the claim but the kicker was, "we don't cover 4 wheeled vehicles" on a renter's policy. So essentially I got effed on the Chevelle. I literally had 10k just in metal panels welded to the car... and every one of them was now dented. I was so pissed off at the whole ordeal that I called a local hot rod shop that I found on google and told him I had a deal of a lifetime for him. He showed up in 2 hours and 4 guys picked up every part they could find. He gave me 1500-2000 in cash and he was gone.

The boat insurance policy totaled my boat. That was picked up and thrown 50'. It was my responsibility to dispose of it - gee thanks Chubb! (they were actually very easy to deal with... had checks in the mail super fast). I found some guy who bought it as is for 2k. Got that problem off my back.

Took me a few years to financially recover. Lost a lot of shit! Had a 10'x30' and a 10'x25' unit in that place. The last kicker...I had a brand new backpack blower (commercial) and a chain saw (commercial) that were very important to me. In one of the pictures from the claims adjuster it's pictured on my trailer. When I arrived on site to dig through my stuff, both pieces were missing. Someone looted my stuff! The saw was sentimental too.

I remember that storm. I was in Forney that day, which isn't far from there. Sorry to hear about all your losses. That definitely sucks.

Here was my C7 with the Kalahari interior.

Edit - Sold this thing because multiple Chevy dealers could not resolve an issue with the car feeling loose going over concrete cut joints while on the highway. I spent 4+ months and hours of my time heading back and forth to the dealer. I refused to pull out my tools because the car was under warranty. Definitely was a shame because I truly loved the car.

Beautiful car, sitting on concrete cut joints in the pic ;)

I'm slowly warming up to the C8's. I've owned 8 from C3 to C7. I was dead set against a rear/mid engine "Corvette" and thought they should have killed the Corvette name and came up with something else. I guess I'm good with it now. My last one... View attachment 132255
I feel the same, they look to European sports carish is to me versus American Muscle.

Well, I think for the first time in decades I'm all in with the C8. The new Z06 is going to be a BEAST! Hopefully doesn't have the heat issues of the C7 Z06.

Had a mid-engine Acura NSX for several years a long time ago. Auto-X'ed that car and loved its balance. Kinda wish I kept it now looking at the prices they're bringing.
