Snow on the East Coast

I flew one of our BBJs to DFW last night and was supposed to airline home today.

My 1048 flight from DFW-ATL is now scheculed for 2230! Sue is stuck in Mexico City after getting out of ATL 5 hours late today.

At least I have a Crown Room membership!

One of your BBJs? Must be nice. How many do you have?

My wife is currently driving through Richmond on her way home... she called and said it's pretty ugly. They are getting 6-10" tonight.

I have been hearing of heavy snow south of us, how bad did it get? Up here they were calling for 7 to 10 inches by morning. Well it is morning and we got about 1 inch on the ground, and probably will not get much more. What a job to have, being a weather man.

Time to get mad....It's snowing pretty steady here along the coast for a little over an hour now.....it was supposed to start as rain mixing to snow....they may have actually UNDER estimated this one....
And right you are again sir. Looks like about 14 inches here. Thanks Bill.:smt013

Isn't Robski supposed to be launching his boat now?

In Simpsonville, SC we got 6.5 inches. In Woodruff 5 miles away they got 9.5 inches. This is a lot for us as we do not have the equipment you guys have to remove the snow.

I am leaving for Charleston in a few minutes as the roads are better about 30 miles south of me. Next Saturday 72 degrees is what the weather man is forcasting.

There was about 2" outside this morning. My wife said the TV weatherman has been predicting 12". Lying bastard.

Many years ago I worked in an office that was otherwise all women. Let me tell you, women are as bad as men. I don't remember the conversation, but at one point one of them said something like, "If a man tells you 12 inches, you know he's lying. Probably more like 3." It was pretty funny at the time.

Driving, of course, it the regular crap. The best part are the idiots with their little front wheel drive shi*boxes. They won't come to a full stop at any stop signs for fear of getting stuck, I guess. So instead they pull out right in front my SUV. Don't see how it's better to have a 5,500 pound SUV roll over 'em instead of getting stuck in the snow, but that's what they seem to choose.

Best regards,
Frank C

Sorry Frank,

I'm with NetJets. We have 2 Boeing Business Jets (for the "acronymly" challenged!).

Still stuck in DFW (Dallas Fort Worth Airport) trying to get to ATL (Atlanta Hartsfield - Jackson Airport)

I was out at 4AM this morning with my snowblower. Because the front of my house (driveway) faces south, and the wind was blowing from the North, I had a large driveway filled with over 2 feet of drifted snow.

I lost the dog for 10 minutes when I let her out to Pee....

We're getting another 3-5 this morning.....should be 1 foot drifts by the time I get home from work...

Todd,

Now that's good! If I can change the subject of acronyms to linguistics, here's one of my favorites from Robin Williams.

Warning - do not listen if you are offended by the "F" word or with young, impressionable children within earshot!

Here's a shot of the boat from one of my security cams.....that cam faces East, and I panned it a little north to see the boat. The other cams around the house perimiter are all 'snowed in'..I'll have to do something to fix that.:smt017

Why do all flight attendants have depth perception problems?

Because all the pilots have been telling them (visualize holding your thumb and forefinger 3" apart) that this is 9"...

Sorry, couldn't resist - your joke reminded me of the old cockpit joke.

"Honey, what the hell is that noise?" "It's Dom snow blowing his driveway at 4am."

It's days like these that I love and hate. Love because I just plain love snow (grew up in MN)! Hate because I live aboard and could fall in the water trying to get off the boat tp clear off the finger pier!

Actually, it wouldn't be that bad with out the wind... the drift on the swim platform is going to test me early on.

Total missed us. My daughter came home to the North GA Mountains hoping to see snow. We did not get any, but at her college UGA (Athens, GA) they got 6+ inches. Go figure????

How far apart are you guys? Although Dom is talking more about drifts than actual depth.
