One of the snaps for my cockpit cover has pulled out of the fiberglass. This has also mad the screw hole now quite large. Any ideas on an easy repair? I thought maybe a bigger screw but I don't think a bigger one will seat on the male head of the snap.

There are oversized stud snaps that can be purchased. Make head is same size, but screw is larger.

I had this happen a few years ago. I just put in one of those plastic drywall anchors and trimmed it off flush and it is still holding today. I know that some here will cringe at this solution, but I needed a quick fix and you cannot tell the difference.

I did the same thing an it works. Been holding for 3-4 yeas Use the smallest drywall anchor you can and trim off the flange.

Standards are #8 screws. Find some #10s (they're readily available online but I never found them anywhere in person). I think I bought a 5 or 10 pack from Amazon. Watch your lengths though; you don't want to go through something important with too long of a screw!

can you get to back of it under gunnel ? Use pop rivet with washer on back. make sure you use aluminum pop rivet or it will rust.

I will have to look for the oversized. Couldn't find anything in my local hardware store.

Thanks for the great tips guys. I just happen to have drywall anchors so I cut one down and fitted it to the hole and presto. Works great and you would never know
