I have a 2005 420 and the engine room hatch is running slow. The replacement motors run about $300 per side, so I would like to eliminate any other potential causes before I spring for new motors. Does anyone know how much current they should draw? I have greased them at the grease fittings, they make less noise now but are still slow. Any lube or cleaning tricks that I should try? The motors are Acculift PH240540, if it matters. Thanks!

2-3 times per year I put some motor oil on the shaft itself. Makes a quick and noticeable difference in the speed of the lift.

I do the same for the front window vent actuator.

Might be wort a try?

I spray silicone spray on the actuator arm 2-3 times per season which seems to help.

This is the contact for the OEM of the actuator.... If I remember right I paid Shelly $250 for the whole unit... It might be worth an email to buy the motors direct

I spray lithium grease on my shaft once or twice a year. I also had the electrical connects pulled and cleaned...

Ditto, it seems to make a meaningful difference on the engine room life and power window. I usually use CRC Marine 6-56 spray, or WD-40. Especially on the front window shaft that gets a lot of salt spray it seems to keep it running smooth.
