Shrink wrap costs??

following the slip costs, what's the going rate for shrink wrap? I just received a bill from the marina and I feel like I'm being robbed!

$1,520.00 for a 380, just for shrink wrap!
 
That sounds like a lot to me.
I usually pay about $9.00 a foot, and it gets wrapped almost all the way down to the waterline.
Did they do anything else besides the wrap? Powerwash? Winterize something?

I can offer what it cost me to wrap a 40'.
$92 plastic 55' long by 32' wide, 8 mil thick white.
$14 two rolls of tape, 6"and 4" wide (lots left).
$30 strapping 1500' (lots left).
$15 2x3 wood x 5 pieces.
$5 worth of propane gas.
+3 hours of labor x two guys (me and a friend), we've got to be worth $100/ hr..

So,...600 labor and 156 parts = $756

But,
Your paying $40/foot!
The pros down here charge $21/ft for your boat...

Hey, what are you griping about? Everybody knows that people who own Sea Rays are 1%'ers and can afford to pay more for things.

At least that's what it seems like some times.

Skylark, did you happen to inquire before you hired them to see what they charged? IMHO EVERYTHING in this world is negotiable.

Unfortunately its not negotiable where he is. Skylark, I have a contact who can do it off property for 400-500 (I'm guessing, its 300 for mine) I'll chat with you more about when you're back.
 
Last year I paid $500 for shrink. I made a winter cover for it this year.

My boat is 37' LOA and 12.5 beam.

No, nothing else, other then the frame...

I don't mind paying more for a nice slip and facilities, but ya got to make your money honestly!

they have a lot of empty 40' - 50' slips, pretty sure they're going to have one more empty slip.

$336 for my 280. (last year). This year indoor storage, new facility, less money than outdoor and shrinkwrap.
 
Myself and 2 friends help each other wrap our boats. My 390 costs $225 for materials incl wrap, tape, 36 X 72 door and propane. Took 3 of us 2.5 hours. Our resident mechanic and his men charge $19/ft. At that rate your boat would have been around $750. I would say you got "taken". Most likely they sub contracted the wrap on your boat and added 50-100% mark up. Many marina's now will not let you wrap your own boat due to fire/liability concerns. Some yards around here are now refusing boat owners from painting they're own bottoms claiming environmental concerns. Maybe you need to find another yard or join a yacht club if the costs are a concern.
 
I had my 340 done in the water, at 14.50 a foot... about $500... They have detach my floating dock to use it to get to the water side... On land the price would have been around $400....
 
$550 wrapped down to the waterline for my 330. My boat is on a hoist. The shrink wrap guys had to use a dinghy to get around the boat during the job.
 
I removed the canvas and only shrink wrapped the aft for $350. I personally think if you don't have use shrink wrap dont. Too many issues with moisture.
