Shooting at P.C. Florida School Board

Even Santa packs a pistol... I love it!

To add a bizare twist to that story, the guy who stopped the school board gunman is really a Santa Clauss. The school's security chief, who shot the gunman in the side/leg, runs a program where he collects old, used and discarded bicycles and refurbishes them for needy kids at Christmas. Since last Dec 26th he has worked almost every night and weekend restoring 330+ bikes for kids who won't get much else for Christmas.

He was that close and missed :wow: .

I'll bet he didn't want to hurt anyone in the first place. :smt038

I thought that also.....maybe he just wanted to scare them and wanted to just die himself..That woman who tryed to knock the gun out of his hand was very lucky, he did not kill her ..but that shows really he did not want to kill anyone

Lost his job, schools district laid off his wife...... this stuff is going to be happening a lot more in our future as people get more and more desperate. Very sad.

Start packin' if you don't already!

The guy's a dipsh*t. I just watched the video here
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=772_1292376603

where there is talk about his wife losing her job. If he really walked into a gunfight with blanks he's admirable that he didn't hurt anyone else but himself, but I bet his bride is really happy now.

When these types of things happen, work your butt off to get a different job or, hey, I have an idea; help your wife find a new job...without a gun in your hand. In my experience I haven't hired people after they illustrate their psycho nature that they'll threaten to kill someone if they don't like the message.

Edit, Sorry, I didn't mean to make fun of this. :smt001

We know everyone in that room. Bill has always been one of the only guys in the whole system that is just completely honest, forthright, and ready to do the right thing all of the time. I've always respected him, and this just elevates that respect to the highest level I have to offer. That guy is a hero in every respect of the word.

As far as I am concerned, there was only one reason for what happened..........mental illness.

This area, while widely known and visited by tourists, is really a small town with small town values and some of the nicest, hardest working folks on earth. Its kind of sad that we will never be able to think of public meetings again without considering guards and personal safety.

This was my first thought after watching the video. It's like sitting ducks for anyone in the public wanting to participate in a normal community meeting. Most every courtroom now has a metal detector to get in, but community venues should be considered safe. No longer. I agree that this event will warrant tougher security.
