Shipping Canvas within USA

Hi

I live in Sweden and have bought a full camper canvas to my Sea Ray 340 in CA, complete with steelarcs.
There is a container leaving to Sweden from Michigan so I can get it in a simple way to Sweden.

But need your advice. What is the best (cheapest) way to ship this canvas with arcs within USA from 90240 CA to 49082 MI?

It all depends on weight and dimensions. Is it on a pallet or multiple boxes? I would think the shipper/canvas shop could handle the freight to the port.

The issue that he has is with the bimini bows. The 340 must have about an 11.5' beam so the SS bows are in the 10' range. The canvas sides can be folded or rolled and packed fairly easily.

It may make sense to cut the bows for shipping and re-assemble in Sweden. If it's 7/8" tubing I believe 3/4" will slide into it. You re-assemble by "sleeving" the 3/4" with your cut bow sections and screwing or riveting through both.

I bought it from a private person, not at canvas shop.
The canvas will be folded into a box. The bows tapet together into one, with no loose parts.
But yes the bows are quite wide, about 10'.
There are no problem with space inside the container in Michigan. So I don´t want to disassemble the bows.
But I want this box with canvas and the steelbows transported in the simplest way to Michigan. Tried the FedEx webpage but it was very expensive and USPS dont handle this wide parcels?

UPS would probably be your best way to ship it from CA to MI...

Have the canvas rolled and put in a box, do not fold.

You need a common carrier like Yellow Frieght. That is a long distance shipment so it will cost a lot.

You can also ship UPS Freight. The problem you have is how well the shipper packages the bows and the freight company handling it. Like I said, it would be easier if the shipper handles the shipping arrangements to Michigan.

let me know how you get on, im trying to get a canvas from greast lakes back to uk, shipping costs shocking plus duty then to pay im thinking of getting it sshipped to california as my relative lives there and fling to lax to pick up,

seems along way to go, but prices ridiculous

Roll it and ship it in shipping tubes not boxes.
That's how I did it. Canvas is protected and tube won't bust open like a box.

Hi

I put it up for auction on Uship.com. Worked out perfectly. The firm the won the bidding cept contact with the seller and deliveryadress. So it tooked 4days to ship from CA to MI.
The canvas has now been shipped with the container and will arrive in Sweden in the middle of May.
I handled everything from my computer and Iphone in Sweden :smt024
