+10 303 protectant
+1 to magic eraser as last resort
But which is worse-- eraser or soft-scrub? Isn't soft scrub an abrasive with bleach?
I used the eraser once...then the 303 has kept everything so I don't need it again.

You are 100% correct. I was making a "funny" up above (or at least trying to:smt101). I honestly don't know which would be worse. I'd probably lean towards using the Soft Scrub, but really for no other reason than I've used it enough to acquire a comfort factor with it.

OK, OK! I will not use the erasers any more! I get it... Like KHARRIMAN I used them once on the seats and plan on using a vinyl protector next. I think I will try either 303 or Amazing Roll-Off first before applying the protectant.

Wing, the 303 protectant, like any liquid, will provide some cleaning ability. Like mentioned above, they're easy to keep clean if you stay on top of it (preventative maintenance). So, once you get the seats the way you want them, it should be relatively quick and easy to keep them that way.

Was still before 9 onthe west coast...

Tim, I thought it left some type of "wax-like" protection? I could be wrong, though.

It does, even after you thoroughly rinse. I'm not sure how it works, only that it does. I have never seen the results of not rinsing, but the guys that recommended Amazing Roll-off said it can be bad..

OK, thanks. :smt001

dobson..I don't know if they can safely, as my admiral ruined ours on our last boat trying. If I were you I would try sunlight FIRST, giving the sun at least 2 weeks to see if that is helping. If they don't look like they are fading (this is where i'm fading...) Be real careful if you try eraser or soft scrub, and load them up mutiple times with 303 after you clean them. The sun will now turn them black (way worse than orignal stain) unless they are well protected.
sorry I can't help more Ric

katricol i was starting to think sunlight might be the best solution. i dont think i will use soft scrub or magic erasor on the seats after seeing what happened on my first boat.

Like Ric said. Really, I don't know of anything that will remove them suntan lotion stains. You'll either have to get used to it or replace the offensive sections.

It might be possible to spray paint them with vinyl/fabric paint. I've seen car interiors done and it is actually kinda amazing that it works. Never tried it myself (nor do I know of anyone who has on a boat), though. But, if you're down to the last step of replacement, it might be worth a shot.

before Soft scrub try this: mix 1 part bleach with 15 parts water. Soak a paper towel or wash cloth in the mixture and wring it out. On a bright, sunny day, lay the towel over the spot for about 15 minutes, then remove. After about 10 more minutes, wipe the area with water. The danger here is that the stained area ends up cleaner then the area around it. To be sure, this is a next to last option.
