I purchased my 260 DA last year and noticed water sitting in the bilge area in the cabin next the the shower sump. I also noticed water under the cushions in the aft cabin. After cleaning all the water out and checking the sump for any cracks I could not find any issues. I am now Installing a A/C unit and needed to run a condensation hose to the shower sump. I took out the steps to have better access for the install and while looking under the head stall I found this hose that was pinched under the head. It is hard to see in the photo but there is a crack in the hose right where it is pinched under the head. This is the drain hose for the sink in the head. This hose was very tight and required two people and about 30 min to fully remove this hose. This is something that should not have been overlooked at sea ray when doing the inspection of the boat. But at least I know where the leak is coming from. I also know why the sink would take forever to drain.

I'll bet it was a p*ssed off Baysinker employee that did that. :smt043

No excuse for that period. Thats not a hidden pinch as someone put hands on those hose clamps.

The Bayliner merge happened way after this boat was built.

I totally agree with Scott. Sea Ray is not a quality built boat anymore and hasn't been for awhile. I should have looked at a Tiarra.

I’ve had my 2004 280DA for a few months now and I’m amazed at the lack of quality. So far I had the blower vent cover fall off in the wind (Lost! - $450 for the part), a lose fitting at the water tank, head sink compression fitting was cracked (not due to freezing but over tightening), Head door mirror came lose at the top and bottom, a cracked elbow on the shower drain (must have been from the factory), nav light on arch was not caulked (water leaking from the access plate), and I had to recaulk all of the seams around the windshield and arch. Mostly minor stuff but I guess I expected better construction from Sea Ray. Perhaps this is just part of New-Used boat ownership. So far the mechanicals and real expensive parts are trouble free (knock on wood!).

Tiara Makes awesome boats, and you cant beat the quality of them. It's Just that I am not a huge fan of the cockpit layouts as I do not do any fishing and prefer more seating. I have been impressed with the Cruisers yachts quality also. When looking at my next boat I will be considering Sea Ray, Tiara(Sorvan), and Cruisers Yachts. I think that sea ray boats are great quality when compared to most of the market, and when looking at used boats they are the most plentiful and very inexpensive for what you get.

If I had the $$$$$ this would be my next boat

Most Tiara owners have owned a number of boats, the most common being Sea Ray. After a while the aggravating issues prompt the switch. We've had great luck with our Tiara and I would never go back. Until you own one, you really can not appreciate how well done Tiara boats are compared to high volume builders like SR and others. Someone mentioned the need for more seating. This is not really a problem as the lower cockpits have lots of room for extra chairs on even small boats like ours.

I agree. I have/had multiple issues with my 320 since taking delivery over a year and a half ago. I had the leaking lights on the arch that had to be resealed, my a/c has barely worked the entire time, fuel gauges would give incorrect readings, windshield vent would not work, head door would not shut, cabin table would not sit flush on the pole, the hatch over the bed leaked, etc, etc, etc. I agree 100%, if the quality controls were in place, Sea Ray would of caught 95% of these problems at the factory.

I think they did a great job building my boat....well, except for not having high enough risers which destroyed both engines (they did replace them though) but keep in mind my hatches dont leak, so that quality control on the hatches probably distracted them from the little exhaust issue, thats just such little stuff.

I do agree with SBW well for the obvious reason. The quality even on an 11 year old boat is outstanding. The things they thought of for easy access is a god send compared to some manufacturers. Is it perfect, no. Every boat you buy there are compromises but things like hinged access on all power panels, rounded corners in the cockpit so fiberglass doesn't have stress cracks and won't jab you in the side when you run into it, large and plentiful rain water run off tracks around engine compartment are but just a few of the improvements from my previous SeaRay's to my currrent Tiara. Again, it is not perfect but alot of small things that are thought out make a huge difference along with a build quality that is outstanding.

Can you believe when the Sea Ray dealer you bought your brand new Sea Ray from. Wants to charge you 250 dollars to haul OUT and 250 dollars to put your boat back IN (approx) the water to fix a warranty issue.

My 24yr old turd has all REAL wood in the cabin & in the cockpit area also. :smt038

Maybe ?? you guys should buy a old turd Sea Ray.

The exhaust issue on my boat took place within 2 years of purchase. Looking at the OP, that hose was kinked like that from day one, I think that is the point. He isnt complaining that hoses may be cracking due to normal wear and tear or age, ie. a 12 year old boat. The fact that it hasnt been spotted until now doesnt take away from the fact that from day one, this hose was installed improperly; this was/is a quality control issue.
