What are thoughts on having such a lanyard / key chain?

Actually yes, was/is me. CSR admin removed my original post, so this is my way of trying to play by the rules :thumbsup:
Several members loved the idea of having one in the roughly 12 hour time period though

Using the forum to sell them, which is why they're now on Craig's list. One suggested to put them on eBay, but more hassle and fees driving up costs for captains that would like them too. Preferred to keep the costs low as possible.

So they can't be in the classifieds? Was that where you posted them?

Yea, the general parts classified, but in all fairness its not a used part...
 
Actually unless SeaRay gave you permission to use their logo you are in violation of using their trademark without their consent. That I would assume if the reason you had to remove it. Selling blackmarket counterfeit goods. But of course if you got them from SeaRay, then nevermind. But of course you would still have to be an authorized SeaRay merchandise dealer.
 
Yes, it was removed because I don't want the forum to be any part of illegal activity. Takes brass balls to copy somebody's logo and make your own stuff with it.
 
Years ago I worked for a company the advertised Walkman type headphones for sale......Sony legal called us and sent a copy of the newspaper ad......remove it or legal action will be taken! Slippery slope when it comes to corporate logos and stuff for sale.
 
I respectfully understand the concerns. For what its worth, maybe nothing, all I wanted was to proudly wear a SeaRay lanyard at work and have a lanyard keychain for my boat being a proud SeaRay owner. I contacted SeaRay Collection directly, and their rep responded with "We do not offer anything like that for Sea Ray". I was bummed out but still really want one, so I thought maybe I could just make a couple for myself, but no one would make just 2 for me, so I had to get the minimum order and figured other owners would like and appreciate them too, and I could recoup the costs since ordering 40 doesn't make any sense financially or functionally.

Anyways sorry to those concerned, I acted on emotion and desire of having a lanyard, and didn't think it out as well as I should have :smt021

You are certainly not the first. I can recall seeing pictures of nice new vinyl seating with embroidered Sea Ray logos and plenty of people that had graphics re done including the Sea Ray logo. Doubt any of that was ordered from Sea Ray directly. Does not make it right but I can't remember anyone having a problem with something like that before. I can certainly understand why Jim did not want them advertised directly on the site. I do think it is pretty obvious you are selling them for close to or at cost. Not quite the same as having an endless supply and charging $25 each or something like that. They do look nice and I am surprised Sea Ray does not offer such an item. They have everything from dog collars to leather jackets.
