I was down at my '99 400DA today just checking things out and noticed that a screw is missing in one of the three holes on the triangular flange that mounts the seacock to the hull of the boat. It is on the generator's seacock.

It does not appear to be leaking and I can't easily get too it to see if it was never installed or just lying in the water back there somewhere.

On the other seacocks it looks like it is either a #12 or #14 Pan Head Phillips screw.

Can anyone confirm the screw size and installation method? Is it typically installed with epoxy?

Also, do I have to be worried that it might start leaking?

Thanks,

Pete

Here is a picture of the seacock. Sorry the quality is so poor.

May not have ever had a screw but, look to see if it was drilled for one..
Regardless, I wouldn't mess with it. No danger of it leaking or coming out.
Do not try to put a longer screw into it because, it could come out the bottom of the boat and cause a problem you don't need.

Mark.

Pete, Straighten out a coat hangar and insert it into the screw hole, watch how deep it goes in and that should answer your question.
