Sea Ray Yacht Expo 2011 Part 1: General Info & Photos

That is interesting......thanks for posting.....

Thanks for the insight Frank. Look forward to the pictures of the facility and the boats in process. This event is clearly for the well heeled looking to unload some serious cash on a big Sea Ray. I meet neither of those criteria and probably never will, but I can imagine the intoxication of being treated like a VIP as you wine and dine away the evening in the knowledge you are the proud new owner of big Sea Ray to be built just for you:grin: . Oh Yeahhhh!!!

First, thanks to Frank for this contribution into an event many of us may never get a chance to attend. Great pictures BTW! Second, kudos to CSR for becoming one of the premiere boating sites on the web. Everyone here has contributed to make this one of the best forums on the web.

After 3 days in the company of the best production boat builders in the world, I am full of opinions. I plan to do 2 more Yacht Expo posts, one with pix from the plant tour and the other of opinions and observations..........stay tuned!

Cool thread!!! MM

I would love to attend that event but knowing that it is not likely I would write the deposit check I wouldn't feel right taking a spot and having them wine and dine me. I think I would rather just go back there to do a factory tour independent of the event.

Thanks Frank, I was invited by our dealer only because they are listing my boat and I'm looking for another, I doubt however that they would have flown me down for the weekend, haha. Guess i'll wait till Jan to see them at the Javits center. Thanks for posting.

If you ever get an invitation to Yacht Expo, it is more than worth the cost of the drive or a Southwest ticket and an econo-box rental car to go. Cocoa Beach is an easy area to navigate in and very nice place to spend a few days in December. Disney is just down the road one way and the Kennedy Space Center is next door to the North. Best of all, it is an informal relaxed and every productive way to see, enjoy, demo and buy a new boat, plus you can get all the information you need from the guys who know the real answers and are motivated by nothing more than your satisfaction as a customer. The factory guys don't have a commission at stake and they don't make it up when you ask a difficult question. Best of all, this is a buyer's paradise if you are a negotiator. You will never beat new boat prices available to you here.

Frank, a very good artical and great pictures. THANK YOU !! CSR is very fortunate to have had you as a rep.
My wife and I have been lucky enough to attend the event twice (not this year). The tour of the plant is so fascinating. Too see how the boats are made, how all of the wiring harnesses are put together, the uphostery is cut and sewn and on and on. The classes that Sea Ray put on were very informative. The food and drinks were to die for. The expo is a first class experience. I hope that everyone in here gets a chance to attend.

With such a great write-up and so much interest, this seems an appropriate place to re-post the "official" video that was shot at the 2010 Yacht Expo as some of you may have missed it. I'm sure the 2011 version will be up before too long.
This was shot and edited between the opening of the event on Friday and the big dinner on Saturday after which the video was presented. Pretty impressive. Enjoy...

You still hanging around here Sierra ? I guess 2 sea Rays and now a Meridian does give you some insight into the Brunswick brands that you can share from time to time. Thanks for your posts.

I wanna go, but while there, I want to be invisible. I hate sales events.
