Hey John,
Is that the Crooked Isle that is accessible from Mexico Beach? Our family has had a vacation home there for over 70 years (a lot of my husband's family still live there) and you used to be able to drive a vehicle on that beach. When our friend brought his boat over from Panama City for a weekend visit, he had a lot of "contact" with the Air Force as he cruised past Tyndall. That was probably 10 years ago but I would think there would be even more security along that stretch of gulffront these days.

Looks like lots of fun.

It is the same. It's a beautiful area.

I am curious about that photo on the top of page 72 with the three girls on the back, you at the helm taken from the port part of the bow. Looks like you are plowing along.

How did they get that picture?

I’m hoping you are going to tell me the camera was mounted to the bow rail via an articulating rod secured with a clamp and the photographer snapped the photo via a remote from the cabin.

I’m hoping you don’t tell me you were boating with the photographer standing on the bow with one foot balancing on the bow rail and the other foot on the deck as they stood holding onto the camera taking the shots as you were going.

Very nice article, boat, photos and family. Thank you for sharing with us.

Doug...In Missouri anyone can take the boater's safety class, but you have to be 14 to operate a PWC by yourself. So my youngest daughter has had her "card" for about 3 years, but this was the 1st year she could ride the Sea Doo by herself.

On the photo you asked about...the photographer was on his knees and as I recall, the engines were probably at 1000 to 1200 rpms....so we were not going fast.

Jeff,

Sorry I didn't see this post. Like others I think I get our copy of SRL when everyone at the post office gets through reading it!!!!

Last year our friends with the 48 had an article done. No one has never asked Ron or me if we wanted to do an article!!!

Great article.
