GW and I as well as 20 of our close friends are taking a charter starting in st thomas and traveling around the islands. Anyone who has done this before and feels there are must see/do things I would love to hear from you. The trip covers food and beverages as well as some water sports(37' intrepid, paddleboards, kayaks etc. As far a money goes I hate carrying a lot of cash, do most places take cards?? any other thoughts about daily life on a trip like this are welcome. Cant wait to leave the cold!
here is the website for the charter. The owner is coming on the trip, he is a friend of our guests as well. the schooner is a 2007 made to look like an older vessel. check it out if you have time. departing the 24th

Jost Van Dyke: Foxy's.

I'll be in BVI that week too. We'll look for the schooner while out and about.

Have a great trip.

Cow Wreck Beach Bar and Flash of Beauty on Anegada.
Soggy Dollar and Ivan's on JVD. Also Corsairs in Great Harbor.
The restaurant upstairs at Leverick Bay has the best food you can boat to in the BVIs.
Myetts in Cane Garden Bay. While there stop by Callwoods Distillery. They claim to be the oldest continuously operating rum distiller in the islands. Just don't drink it.
Cooper Island Beach club.
Depending on your group the Willy T. At close to 20 bareboat trips in the BVI I now skip it but loved it when I was 25
Skip all the Pussers except for drinks at Sopers Hole.

"20 closest friends"! Wow, I am impressed. We struggle finding one or two other couples we could do a charter with!

And you are good with cc's most anywhere, but cash is easier at some places.

All of you on one sailboat?

Yes, 177' boat. thx for the information. Keep it coming. $1400 pp all inclusive! we all get our own staterooms. not sure how many heads but I know we have a little sharing to do. Very excited!

I was there last February. Agree with all of the above. Every day was absolutely great, but if I'm forced to name a few faves, one was anchoring overnight off the Bitter End Yacht Club in VG, preceded by a morning at the Bath's nearby. Other fave was our last day/night anchored in the Bight on Norman Island. We had lunch on the Willy T lots of fun, but the Bight itself we thought was a great place to anchor from mid afternoon and just hang out til the next day. Some of the best snorkeling we did in the AM that day nearby at the Indians and Treasure Point. We loved the Soggy dollar bar 15 years ago, but last year it was mayhem and White Bay itself I believe has lost it's former charm to what I would now describe as a college springbreak atmosphere. We made the mistake of bringing our kids (13 and 10) to shore and they were traumatized at the "grown ups all drunk and acting like kids!" I have to admit it was a little rowdy even for me. Wife just reminded me that snorkeling off Monkey Point on Guana Island was so so, but about a mile away, White Bay on Guana Island was spectacularly beautiful. It's a private island so you can access it only by dinghy and you are free to use the beach up to the high tide mark. Had we known how beautiful it was we would have brought stuff to stay and have a picnic. We did not care too much for Anegada so if your draft keeps you from it, don't worry. Your captain and crew will ensure you all have a great time and in either USVI or BVI you can't really go wrong wherever you go. We had a 44' cat with a captain so for me, not having to worry about being captain or crew on a floating vacation was vacation enough for me!

What boat is it? Please post a link...

Sure hope it ain't YOU who has to climb that rigging to trim the top sails. Looks like fun, enjoy immensely.

Cruised all through those islands. Mostly on fast center consoles....

Have the Captain take you over to Necker Island then pitch a pirate flag and take it over!

Have fun, I'm sure the captain and crew will know the best places. Are you planning on doing any diving? There are some good dive spots if the water is clear.

I second that on the 20 closet friends I think we have 2 and they aren't that close at all , how does that happen , do you have to be retired or what?

Boltman

I have ONE close friend. The Admiral has ONE too,,,, so I guess, technically, we have TWO close friends. But we'd NEVER do a charter with them. Don't even like traveling with others on regular vacations. Seems like more of a holiday when just the two of us can explore and snoop around. Weird eh?

Probably just snorkeling, bunch of us from the Boat Club that we tie up with all summer. I would like to do some fishing on the 37 Intrepid we are towing with us. We also have access to 26 RIB and some water toys. Should be a trip of a life time, thanks

Ok, cool.....look, snorkeling those waters is great....Most of the sunlight and colors and fish activity is near the surface anyway. Just remember to protect yourself from the sun.

Awesome that you're towing the Intrepid. The best of both worlds!

Enjoy & Aloha from North Shore Oahu!!

What a great trip on the Mystic Adventure Sails. We were the "shakedown cruise" test riders. We visited 5 islands in a week and had a lot of fun. Captain, crew and cook were awesome. Recommend it highly, we only had 19 passengers or so with nice accommodations. Here are a couple of shots. Unfortunately we came back to 30" of the white stuff and more almost everyday! schools in the area have already used up 5 snow days.
