Sad day for boat owner

Maybe a muskrat got a craving for an exhaust bellows? Muskrats think they taste like chicken...

Will do. It wasn't really planned, but I had a good talk with the folks there. We've kept the lil' Ray at Stillhouse Marina, and I dropped in to check on slips there at Franks.

Talk to Russ the manager and give him my name (Travis). They can help you out. You get a BoatUS discount too. We used to live in Salado.

Sure. Any boat neglected to that degree would sink. But, usually, it's one particular brand that is neglected more often than others, and it starts with a B. If you don't believe me, check around your local salvage yards, and in the corners of your own marinas. You'll find them there, forelorn, covered in sea gull poop, and spider webs with their chalky blue stripes fading to white, plastic portlights breaking down, and arches sagging. (How's that for an accurate description?)

This model had horrible bellows that need replacing regularly. I was told the bellows were really old and worn. It is still sad anyways.

I dont know alot about such things, but there is no way this guy could of made an issuance claim could he have?
I was wondering about the same thing.

The Fire Department was called and showed up with a fleet of trucks,
Two barges with cranes were needed to lift the boat.
I have no idea how the boat was removed from the lake or where it was taken.
The HAZMAT team had three pick-ups with big fifth-wheel trailers. They also had a couple of boats to include an air boat.
The HAZMAT team (from Waco) was just finishing up this afternoon (12ish hours later)

The owner wouldn't or couldn't show up for the recovery. I heard that he was more annoyed by the response.
I can envision a five figure bill for the owner or the insurer.

As long as the insurance surveyor can prove it was negelct, there wont be any claim. This guys is going to be up $h!t creek w/o a paddle.

I believe you're right. I wish I had asked about how the boat was pulled from the dock and out of the lake.

I also heard it was the second boat the owner has had sink. Hmmmmm. Kind of weird. If it is just bad luck, he needs to find another hobby.:wow:
They towed boat to ramp and trailered the boat out. The recovery teams goal was to get the boat out of the lake ASAP.

I still wonder how it was trailered out since it sounds like it was being supported by a couple of barges. I guess the supports could have been to bow and transom eyes allowing the barges to lift it on to a trailer.

Pumped water out of entire boat with a massive water pump. Pretty impressive pump. Once water mostly out, towed boat to ramp with another boat and put on trailer. I was told water was still coming out when they arrived at boat yard.

I think if I sink ONE boat, by neglect or lack of care, I would start collecting dirt or something sheesh!
