I have a 2000 340da I am interested in adding a rudder indicator and was wondering if I could get thoughts on what to do? I like the Idea of an electronic multifunction one that will do depth temp etc.. i.e. garmin, raymarine. How hard are they to install?

Thanks for the help!

Dave

Davis makes one that is not electronic. Goes on the wcenter of your steering wheel and works great! Cost is. Around 15.00 plus shipping. Defender seemed to be the best price when I bought mine.

Which is what my second link shows...

Testing 1,2,3 testing... is this thing working?

I use my autopilot to indicate the rudder. Just a thought if you were thinking of adding that too. Two birds one stone kinda thing!

Thanks for the help I will look into the steering wheel version. I still would like info on the multifunction displays

I have the tape on my wheel. I never knew that they had that mechanical one that mounts. That is a hell of a lot better. Now, I turn the wheel hard over and count the swings back. That eliminates that aspect and is very visual.

On another note, has anyone noticed from last year, Defenders prices seem to jump after the first of the year?
