Rewiring cabin radio antenna

I've updated the sound system in my 1987 340 EC from OE Sony Shaft style to a Double Din. Looks great, but the original antenna appears to be the bow rail itself. Would like to use a Shakespeare mast antenna in place of the original Loran antenna. Has anyone tried threading coax cable from the port side radar arch to the main cabin?

Frank, that would be ideal, but if you find it a pain to do, I have had luck with Shakespeare having a "spliiter" that lets you use your vhf antenna as an FM antenna at the same time.
