It appears that the M309 does not have a port for a CD Changer, new model or old model changer. It would need the CeNET connection.

Can someone tell me if I go with the Clarion M309 is it possible to connect a 6 disc changer that has CeNet capability. In other words, does the back of the M309 have both a USB hook up for your ipod and a "CeNet" connection for a disc changer.......or am I not understanding this at all............

I just installed the M309 and the new wired remote with the digital read out, it has the eye so it picks up the wireless remote and I can change tracks volume etc. on the helm with the wireless remote.

Just reading this thread now. I have a 2003 340 and replaced the head unit and remote with a Fusion unit. It docks the ipod internally and the helm remote works like an ipod. I really like the setup, however it does not work with the 6 disc changer. Not an issue for me, as I prefer my iPod.

I stand corrected. I have seen the M309 advertised with CeNET controls. Sorry for my OP.

Well I could care less about "Dock Mates" I play my music for me and not for someone else, unless it is for my date, since I am a widower. Being anchored out on a nice night, wine, grill etc. AC cooled stateroom, or even just the open air with the Love Songs" works nice sometimes I do not need others approval or acceptance! So you play whatever you wish for others. I will reiterate and state again I play and do what I wish for me, not for others.

But since you brought it up, I happen to have 23 albums from Barry White and 16 from Marvin Gaye, but then again I have over 10,000 CD's (Not a typo) on a RAID drive.

Now as to you comment about "Love Songs" it is a compilation from a few different albums, and I can choose to just play them in the salon/stateroom, just at the cockpit area or at all areas.
Or just the cockpit

MY whole point was that one can just obtain a cheap USB flash driive, copy 100's of albums to it, or a few thousand songs.

I have around 100 Beatles albums also, and 50 years of Bluegrass, 10,000 Maniacs, 100 greatest guitar solos. Then there are 1264 Jazz albums

But you cannot access all of these from the Sony or the helm remote, so I had to select a handful of items for the flash drives. I will often just swap a flash drive. So I have a $20.00 flash drive leaving my Ipod or IPhone disconnected.

So play on for your dock mates your way and I will play on my way.

It has a usb cord and the cnet hook up

So therefore, if I use the M309 and find a 6 disc changer that has CeNet compatibility such as Clarion's DCZ625 I should be all set. I could have the 6 disc changer plus the ability to hook up my Ipod. I took a look at the Sony set up but I think I prefer the Clarion.

It also looks like the DCZ625 will fit in the exact cut out that the previous Clarion C-bus changer occupied.

Hulk, Could you explain how you ran the helm remote to the M309. I just bought this set up for my 2000 Sundancer 340 and was wondering how to run the line. Thanks,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you I was on a cruise last week. Tomorrow I will go to the dock and take some pictures of the path I ran the cable and I will post and put some narrative with it may be a little easier this way to explain, if you have not done this yet.
