I have a 1990 sea ray sundancer 280 i had a leak in my discharge hose.I removed the clamps and pulled the old hose out. How do i put a new hose end. This is driving me crazy. Can someone please help me out.

Can you tie a rope thru the middle of the hose, secured to the far end and then pull on the rope as someone else pushes? Also use some soap or oil to grease up the hose to help it slide. Good luck

In addition to what Kat said, I drilled a hole through both walls of the hose about 2" from the end ( thick walled 1.5 ID black hose ). Then made a knot with a 1 foot long loop with heavy string, ( that I had pulled thru when removing old hoses ). While keeping tension on the line, I wrapped Shrink Wrap tape around the end of the hose and out to the knot. This 1' + conical taper made pulling the hose, while someone else was feeding the line, a bit smoother. I'm not sure of your configuration but, if applicable , don't forget to put silicone into the conduit or bulkhead hole where the hose passes through. This prevents engine room fumes from spreading throughout the boat. My master line was a royal pain. Have fun, Tim

Well, hindsight is 20/20, but attaching the new hose to the old one and THEN pulling the old one out/new one in...

Otherwise, it's a bit of trial and error, but tying a rope to the end (like above, making holes) you're pulling through would be my first "go to" way. Having a friend definitely helps. I like the idea of somehow making the front end into a "cone". Another way would be to use a bung.
