Hi:

Have a 97' 330 Sundancer in Florida. What should the typical cost be to replace the manifolds? Risers have been done. Bottom paint? tune up? Tune up a 4.5KW generator?

Thanks,

why weren't the manifolds done when the risers were done? How's the compression? Who's doing the bottom paint, tune up(s)? costs can vary wildly depending on who is doing the work and what needs to be done. What kind of bottom paint do you have and what shape it's in. By tune up, what needs to be done? plugs, wires, carbs, distributors?

If you pay someone to do it... It should be about $5K for the manifolds... 330's are hard to do, there is not a lot of room between the engines... The genny tune up, plugs, water pump, oil, filter, belts, and zinc, probably about $500. Tune up for the the mains (plugs, oil, water pumps, fuel filters) probably about $800.... Bottom paint about $500 for one coat with paint.

Can anyone recommend any shops for doing this kind of work (bottom re-sand and paint and engine/exhaust repairs) on a 1997 330 DA with 7.4 mercruisers and v-drives in Venice Florida?

in the process of buying the boat. previous owner did the risers but claimed the manifolds were ok. we did a sea test and found the manifolds running hot. I am not taking any chances on a florida boat, i must assume the manifolds need repalcing. Marina is quoting 5k but a found a mechanic that will repalce all 4 for 3,200. Marina, prices appear to be high accross the board.
The port engine is fine but the starboard is not pulling it's load. We think a complete tune up on it and rebuild the carburator is needed.

Thanks to all for your replies!
