Has anyone actually done this? I've searched through here and found tons of people saying they used PlastiDip and Durabak, but cannot find much on people using bed liner spray.

Home Depot sells Rustoleum Truck Bed Coating Spray for about $8/can. I was worried about the flexibility, so I test sprayed a very thin rag. There was very little bleed through and after a day there is no smell and the rag bends easily with no visible cracking on the coating. I was wondering more about long term. Will it stain the boat? Will it hold up with use? Will it hold up with sun heat?

Almost all of the backing has worn off my carpets, so I'd need to coat everything.

I own a LINE-X franchise and I did mine. It's expensive and it causes a bit of contraction...hard to snap them in. However, it seals in the crumblys and gives you 2-3 more years of life

I used several cans of PlastiDip - with a brush. It'll get me a few more years . . . then I'll have to visit one of our dear sponsors SnapIn Carpets . . . strange that ad just happens to be up now - hahahaha I would replace the carpets now - but I'm affriad they won't look perfect . . . any input from anyone

Replaced my carpet with Corinthian who is a sponsor here. Looks great.

I did a wall to wall new carpet from Snap-on carpet... The replacements have better backing I used desert sand like on Frank W's boat, with the better backing. This is what it looks like:

I went ahead and sprayed my carpet backs with the bed liner. It took two cans for one medium coat. They look ten times better, but I am not convinced I am done.

First off, I did not realize how bad the carpets had gotten. I bought this boat in July of last year, and only had them off once. Getting up close to tape the edges, I really paid attention. Almost all of the backing is gone, and large sections of the fiber backing is pealing away, or completely missing. Here are some before pics...

I'll snaps some pics of what they look like now with the bed liner. I am worried the coat I applied is far too thin. It probably would have worked fine to hold in the crumbles, but now I realize I need something to hold the remaining fiber backing in place too. I'll probably go ahead and put a coat of PlastiDip or Durabak on it.

They will be perfect from snap in. They can use your pattern or they can use theirs on file.

This is the carpet after the bed liner spray. It looks 10 times better, but as I said earlier, it needed more work.

You can see the fibers are still loose. Looks grey in pic, but more black like first pic in person.

I picked up four cans of PlastiDip at Home Depot on the way home from work yesterday (about $7/can). They had spray available, but I wanted a really good thick coat, so went with a paint brush. Applied a really nice thick coat over everything. It looks great now. Almost all areas the had loose fibers are now sealed up. The fiber tear line is cemented in place. Will post those pics tomorrow.

I've been using KOOL SEAL brand White Elastomeric Roof coating sold at hardware stores, home centers, etc..., it's about $25 a gallon and leaves no marks and is still flexible after drying. It does not bleed through when applying it either. I usually put two coats on with a paint brush and 4" roller.
