removed ALL the graphics from my boat (56k warning)

I have to say, without the graphics the boat looks alot cleaner. I like it.

I might 'de-decal' (haha no such word) my boat someday. I'm with you Searay Sport, I want some yellow on my boat too.

I think your 240 would look good if you put the Sea Ray logo on the side (like the current 240SD) and the new decals they are using on the hulls of the 2007 models since that is a very understated design. I would forgo the decals on the upper deck. I bet that set up would look really slick! And then you could tell everyone that yours is a prototype 2008 model with the new 500HP option.

That might look pretty slick. I've thought about taking the big Searay emblems off the side also, the previous owner had those put on and the Sundeck decals removed.

smart move that you decided now
i hope there is no discoloration on gel coat from sun "cooking" that red color around decals

While waxing the boat this weekend I tried removing the lower part of the graphics to see if I liked it.

I tried using a blow dryer and got most of it off. It seems like it is 2 parts - the graphics and a clear sticky film.

In some cases I could not get the sitcky film off. Any suggestion?

One suggestion I got was not to use a Scotch Brite Pad. :smt013 I noticed this after I had scratched the gel coat. I hope I can re-ploish the gel coat.

I do like the looks and will do the rest if I can find an easy way to do it.

I have taken nearly all the graphics off all the boats I have owned. Problem with my Pachanga is most of the graphics are 'glassed in.

I saw a 1984 Formula that was all white. The boat looked less than 5 years old, because there were no graphics to date it.

I personally would go all white, then every year cut a vinyl graphic to give it a "current" look. Most sign places can do that and it costs around $100 a side. When it gets ripped or torn, just remove.

All white is timeless, bubbles and spray was 90's, tribal art crap is current...but will soon be on the out!

ehaze mentioned using Goo Gone, this is to remove the residue left over from the graphics.

I don't like any of the performance boat graphics. I think even the current graphics look cheesy and outdated. Kind of like an 80's rock video.

i used the better part of one bottle (tested it on the back of the boat first).

after removing the graphics and residue i washed the entire boat with soap and water.

i wouldn't pay someone to remove the graphics, it doesn’t take that long and its not hard at all. if the boat is several years old i would be real hesitant to remove the graphics.

I’m going to work with a friend that does custom vinyl graphics to come up with something a little simpler.

boat is still in need of a little tint on the windows
It looks HOT!
