Remanufactured Generators

Does anyone know of any companies that sell re-furbished or rebuilt generators? I am trying to help someone who is buying a boat that will need a genset. Thanks!

You can send yours back to Westerbeke and they will rebuild it for you... It should cost 3-4K... (at least that was the quote I got in 2010... )

There is a place near LOTO that has the largest inventory of used Bekes in the country. Damned if I can find it now. Kismet marine ring a bell?

Know anywhere that I could pickup a Westerbeke 7.2BCGTC with a failed engine?

Thanks for the tips, folks. The generator would be for an '80's 270 DA. I have seen some used ones here and there, but was hoping to find maybe a factory (or otherwise reputable company) that re-mans these. I have heard over the years there are folks in FL and the Great Lakes that do this, but have never been able to get specific names.

Before I decided to go new, I spoke to them. I was quite impressed. The good thing about your location is you wouldn't have the huge shipping costs I would have incurred on the east coast. The shipping was what made new a better choice for me.
