Recall On Some Dts Models

All DTS boats with a HIN of K7 - E8 in the ninth and tenth position, in conjunction with 07 or 08 in the eleventh and twelfth position, need the command module updated to version 76

I'll make it short and sweet for everyone:

Bascially they had defects in potentiometers in the ERC(electronic remote control).
It will trigger a 6 second alarm, and you will get a fault code on your VV or SmartCraft.

When the fault occurs ECM goes into guardian which only allows 65% throttle. The unsafe part is that after the fault is triggered the shift position remains in the same gear, Until the ECM is reset.

Just a HEADS UP for everyone, it is a federal recall so the repair is on Mercury.

Recall is mainly for Outboards, but if you somehow fall into the range....

Just recieved another recall bulletin...

This applies for ALL MERCURY MERCRUISER I/O,MIE that fall into the catergory of the HIN#.

Before I had only recieved one recall for Mercury O/Bs, now all motors are included.

HIN# as in hull identification number? That doesn't make sense unless you mean engine serial number.

Thanks for the note. We have twin V Drives 8.1L Horizons with DTS. Are these affected?

How does it not make sense? You have 12 digits in your Hull Identification Number

The 11th/12th is the year of the boat, so 2007-2008 models.
The 9th/10th is the calender month, sorry it should be from
E8-K7.

Is this a big deal? The boat I just put a deposit on falls into this recall category. Should I demand a model with a HIN that is not affected by this???
